This clear plastic mechanical hand moves its fingers as it plays piano music. It plays three different tunes, and starts up when you clap. Put on a glove, make up a story about Beethoven's spirit, and you have an act. Only seventeen bucks.

That sure beats the old "rapping Hand of Cagliostro." Now if it can only be updated to play "rap music" we'd have a whole new trick.

What is needs to be programed to do is hold up fingers to denote NUMBERS!!!
1-5

That would be cool.

and for wise guys just the middle on cue.

I think it would look nice if it was painted to look like a palmistry hand. You know, the ones that show the lines of the hands and their names.

This would be perfect for a spirit hand just diconnect the music and it moves on cue.

I like the idea of piano music, but only if it can be programed to play whatever you want. I'd set it to playing honkey-tonk music or Scott Joplin for a story about a hand cut off of a piano player during a raid on a bawdy house. It has great possibilities.

I doubt it will be quiet, which will reduce much of the magical quality.

With those plastic gears, I'm sure it's probably noisy as hell. But for $17, I thought it was worth a look. Plus, for that price it would be cheap to tear apart and modify for those who know how.
