The Love cups and Babe cups aren't being made any more, and it's been quite a while since any of them came up on eBay. You have posted to the right place to try to find them, though. You should also check the Tricks For Sale section on this site...I know there were at least two sets of RNT2 cups available as of Feb. 26.
You can find reasonably priced cups at http://www.rnt2.com in general, and http://www.rnt2.com/productlist.aspx?cat......tegory=Y in particular. You can also try http://www.cupsandballs.nl/ for Auke van Dokum's beautiful cups, or http://www.sherwoodmagic.com/ for Brett Sherwood's cups. Joe Porper's cups are outstanding, but are much more expensive. You can find them at http://www.porperoriginals.com/cups_main.htm . Curt |

Those are nice little cups but they are nowhere the size of the other two sets you mentioned. You'll have to pay well over that price, assuming you can even find someone willing to part with them

The JES Squatty cups are probably your closest alternative and the new satin ones are reasonably priced.

The Love and Babe cups (and the Animal cups) were designed by Gary Animal, a veteran English street performer now living in New Zealand, and hand-spun by a silversmith in Sheffield (I believe). The Love cup will take a tennis ball as a final load; the Babe cup will take a child's baseball. The cups are very well designed, produced, and easy to handle.
If you search for "cup diameter", you'll find lots of information about cups. You should also check this thread: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=115 Curt |

He can tell you everything you need to know about any of his products. And yes, his products are good. You can find out a lot about these cups by reading the reviews in The Good, The Bad and The Garbage. There is also a wealth of information about all the cups that have been made since the Café started if you just use the search function. The Gary Animal cups, such as the love, the babe, the animal and the gazzo cups have not been available for some time, now. Gary moved to New Zealand and has not restarted his business. Sometimes his cups come up for sale on the various auctions, but not often. They were made primarily for street workers. The Animal cups are short run items. I have seen some cups that may be counterfeit Animal cups. Gary stamped a GA in the top of the cups on the inside. Almost every set of his cups I have ever seen has that stamp.

Just as an aside. Bigger isn't always better (As experience never fails to try to teach me, and I always fail to learn).
I started with a normal set of cups, then got a big set, cause I wanted big. Now I have big cups, with big loads and noone but me notices...... I kind of wished I just bought a better set of normal cups. Live and learn

There are cheaper cups. You probably won't like them. There is a reason that good cups cost money. One of them is that the materials are thicker and more durable than the materials cheap cups are made of.
Figure out what size loads you want to produce. Then purchase cups that will fit them. If you work the other way, you may be stuck with a set of cups that you can't use. Again, as more than one of us has suggested previously, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION.

Unless you insist on spending more before you even know what it is you really want, I suggest you look at RNTII's "Mainstream Magic" pages. There are cups there at half the price of the ones you're looking at that will take an equally impressive load.
JES Squatty cups in satin finish are $125 and they even have a "starter" set for $89.

It's worth it to save up for a good set of cups. There is an old saying in the engineering business -- "If you can't afford to do it right the first time, how can you afford to fix it?"
This also applies to the cups to a great degree. If you want some really big cups for very little money, then Morrissey has some street cups made from aluminum that will work until you have accumulated enough to purchase the set you want. But you couldn't begin to purchase a set of Gary Animal cups in any size for that kind of money. If you want to see what is out there and/or has been out there, go to the cups and balls museum.

Classic Style Cups & Balls Copper These beauties are will be availble in Copper. For the performer who needs the same load capabilities to that of the Paul Fox cups, these will fit your bill. Each cup is 3" tall with a saddle measuring 1 3/4" and a mouth ID of 2 1/4. These cups easily take a regulation lacrosse ball just as the Paul Fox Danny Dew cups do and will also accomodate 3 7/8" crochet balls on the saddle and still alow the cups to stack properly. Curt |
