I have not seen anyone mention it here for a while. It comes up quite often for the magicians. It was made for mentalist. Do you guys still use it?
And BTW I just thought of making an ESP brainwave deck. If anyone wants to know how, send me a PM. |

The Brainwave is a powerhouse routine. I made my deck after watching Jon Tremaine's Mental tape. It's the same effect , but the method is different.
Whit Haydn has a very interesting presentation for the Brainwave in his book Chicago Surprise.
Self concept is destiny..

Just because people don't talk about stuff does not mean they don't use it

We use every tool possible to fry our spectators brains including Brainwaves and Microwaves. I use it all the time in conjunction with Osterlinds BCS routine. I'm sure it is one of the most popular trick decks in the history of mentalism and magic.

You can also check the INVISIBLE-BRAINWAVE DECK (Mark Strivings) or the DECA-DECK (Allen Zingg) for a change!

I prefer the Invisible Deck version (as opposed to the Brainwave Deck orientation) for the great rapidity with which one can get to the "reversed" card. For details on how to make your own set and handling tips, see my "The Chromatic Rhine Test" which appeared in _The Linking Ring_, July 2005, pp. 101-105. This was an addendum to my One-Man Mental Parade which appeared the month before. Modesty prevents me from mentioning that it won _The Linking Ring_ plaque for best mental effect that year; whoops, I just did!
Anyway, I like it and hope you might too. Thomas Henry |

Is it just me or does the Brainwave seem more "magicky" then the ID?

You are not alone, Candini.
I remember Kreskin and Mark Strivings having two killer routines with the ID. Especially Kreskin routine was so clever because it used an ID in such an unusual way, and having two people actively participating at once. That does not mean however that BW is too "magicky"... it depends a lot from the context. For example I love the B-Wave concept, especially if impromptu like mine. But to me, I would choose ID over BW anyday.
