Rannie, that was too cool for school. Not only was your magic excellent, but I very much enjoyed your insane process to smooth out the flow, version after version, with a surprise kicker. You are an inspirational machine! Wow! -Dan

Greetings,
There have been a lot of talks regarding "Threeple Treate" by Rannie. I went to youtube.com to see what it's all about... And after seeing version 1, 2, 3, and 4... I was really amazed by the way this guy think and his creative presenations. I'm not saying this because I am also from Manila and a good friend of the Rannie... I have seen this individual's transformation from a very good singer and talented actor, to a very good and creative close-up magician. Too bad I can find time to "jam" with Rannie and his magic buddies nowadays. From what he told me, he is preparing to join a major magic competition sometime in 2009... Well, Rannie why don't you make that annoucement yourself. There's a handful of good close-up magicians here in Manila, but nobody comes close to where Rannie is right now because of his creative style and presentation. Happy Magic! Sal |

Thanks Chubby! Good luck on the competition tonight! I miss competing with you guys like in the old days. Too bad I'm the chairman for tonight's competition and thereore I cannot be cheering for you tonight. I will even stay away from the judges. You know that I will be rooting for you from inside. All the best to you Chubster! Go get it!

That was a fun night indeed. Incidentally, version 5 and 6 are already done. Version 7 is the one I will be doing for both laymen and magicians. It is the culmination of all that it went through. Version 4 was fun, but I feel it is best performed for magic buddies, in a session, club or those all night sessions during conventions. Though it would work for laymen, I would stick to a simpler, straight foreward version. So suffice to say version 7 is a streamlined version of Threeple Treat.
Best to all! Rannie

Hey good job Rannie.
I think I liked version four better. It must be the six coins at the end. I do like the copper coins on version five but I could not hear your explanation of why the coppers appear ( at work, I can not turn the sound up that loud). So maybe if I understood why the copper coins appear then I would like this better than 4. Now you have 2 more version out there that we have not seen yet and if each one is an improvement, man that is some fantastic work. About how long have you been thinking up the foundation of the routine?

Ray,
How's it going man! Nice of you to drop by. Youtube without sound has got to be one of the most frustrating thing in the world. Anyway... I went on saying...or babbling about how its done... I said something like this, if I remember it right... " Here's how its done... you need one copper Filipino coin, a fake Morgan , and one of Doc Larry Barnowski's authentic Chinese coins" Something silly like that. The whole excercise is not so much the patter or the presentation although it is very important as I stress that to my Tavern Goers. What it is , is my way of puting my ideas in practice and see how it works. Thru the Café, I get PMs from friends and new friends, heavy hitters in the coin world and even newbies. All the inputs I get give me the feedback I need to improve these ideas. This is why I love the Café! The other 2 versions have been filmed but I'll space it out a bit. Certainly I would go for improvement rathetr than just have versions here and there. However, I don't want to limit myself or pressure myself as it blocks the flow. As far as the foundation of this effects... I have been thinking about it for sometime now... It must be something that I ate that day.. I just got my coins and started working on the idea. The result is version 1. Soon after, I found myself discovering things I never thought I would. Combinations and sleights just kept popping out of nowhere (I don't own too many books and materials on coin magic). Usually, I stumble on what seems to me as a new move. All because of necessity. The other versions came in 1 hour to 3 hours interval. The creating part is a fast process for me. Its the streamlining that takes me a long time. Rannie
