Yes, but don't do it for the same group of people back to back.
I just started out with Kolassal Killer (used poker size the first week) and decided that the mini bikes (404s) were the way to go. Exactly half the bulk, and they hide very well in each credit card pocket. The blues are light blue and take a black marker very well. Awesome coming out from behind a credit card.

His version has you "openly" putting one card in the card box and then having that card be correct at the end of the very interesting story that leads you there. Also, Krenzel gives you a variation that allows the effect to be nearly completely impromptu. Highly recommended.

I have done Becker's Kolossal Killer 2 from his videos. Is the original Kolossal Killer better? What are the advantages or disadvantages?

I agree with you. IMO, this trick should be performed as a mentalism effect in opposition to a "magic" effect. Spectators are so fooled with KK! Worth it |

All I have to say is....IT ROCKS!!! I love the effect. I use my own version and I think that is what Killer was created for. For magician's to spawn off their handling and what works best for them!!!!

I was wondering if I can get some feedback as to the "Off..." situation (those who have this will know exactly what I am talking about). IS it really as strong as a "direct hit" (sorry for beating around the bush but I don't want to give anything away)? It seems hard to believe but I have never actually used this effect so I don’t really know. In the instructions it advises that the “Off…” situation is actually stronger than a direct hit. The uncertainty about this one point has always kept me from using it. I'd love to get thoughts on this from those who have used this item. Thanks.

Definitely it is much much better to be off than to be on...You do not get to perform the off kicker and it loses some "oomph" without the One!
I get a big big smile when I realize the off scenario is about to present itself which, also causes my client to grin as well, just before the revelation.. You know something? He/she never knows what they are grinning about either...! The grin soon vanishes upon the revelation of the One...THis is my favourite part of the sequence... I say get out there and perform this so that an original presentation idea will form in your own version of KK>......Do not delay any further...... Here's to your missing the mark and get ready for this > |

I don't know if this question can be answered without giving anything away, so I'll understand if you refuse to answer and then drag me outside the Café and beat me...
How many cards do I have to make room for in my wallet if I buy this effect? |

Just found some extremely thin bridge sized and very flexible plastic playing cards that I plan on setting up for this effect.
They're around 2/3 thickness of bicycles cards and are small enough to fit easily in the credit card holders. And since they're plastic, they shouldn't tear or get as dirty as normal cards. This will allow me to setup in my normal wallet without adding due thickness. Can't wait!

The cards are well printed with red backs and fronts that look very very similiar to "Aviator" Style cards. They come in a black plastic box with a clear top that has "Royal 100% Plastic" written on it. I just set these up in my wallet and it's amazing how perfect they are for the effect. Now I know some people like using "mini bikes" and the like, but IMHO, it's more impressive to pull a full size ordinary looking card out of your wallet instead.

Thanks Flip--
I have to agree with you--full sized cards strike me as more "normal" I would be afraid that mini-cards might give the impression that you could fit a lot of cards in your wallet! Gotta love these scavenger hunts!! Thanks again, Gene B

Don't worry about that, Its very strong and the effect isn't that you can pull an elephant out of your wallet. If you use the sugested lines you will have already given the impression that you have selected a special card ahead of time just for them.
Also you shouldn't fumble getting it out. That is the biggest key, being able to just snatch it out. If you fumble around alot, and its not smooth yet, stick with the big cards. Once you try the minis, you will stick with them. Only a $2 gamble to try it.

I tried minis and have given them up for the very thin plastic cards.
Unless you stack the minis two to a credit card holder, you're gonna find that even tho' they're smaller, they tend to be nearly as thick as regular bikes. And when I did try the minis, their smaller size tended to make them "swim around" my wallet and fumble around. Look at it from a logical viewpoint. If you actually predicted a card and put it in your wallet, why would it have to be an odd looking "mini-card"? If you could really predict their card and your wallet is obviously large enough to hold at least one full size card, logically, isn't that what you would use? Pychologically, wouldn't you think that seeing a full size card come out of your wallet would help dispel notions that you might actually have multiple cards? If someone can't find the thin plastic cards, I'd recommend trying local stores to see if they have really cheap thin cards. If you find them in bridge size, they'll fit your wallets credit card pockets perfectly, making it very easy to produce the proper card quickly without fumbling around for a mini card. If one can fit the full size cards comfortably into ones wallet perform the effect effectively, I'm at a loss to see how using mini bikes would be an improvement. The only upside I can see is that mini bikes might be nice for those who absolutely can't fit the requisite cards into their wallet. And of course, thin cards can allviate that.

Hi,
KK is certainly worth while. Just realizing that minds like Larry Becker and Doug Henning thought enough of it to add ideas and concepts well after the release should tell us something. It is actually good enough the Becker has a version of it on one of his videos. Stan oopps... forgot to mention that the Becker version is on his video named Mental Masterpieces... |
