Here is the demo:
http://www.alakazam.co.uk/acatalog/Hot_List_1.html#a328 I was thinking that this could be done with any vent figure / puppet, and that the wise cracks about the name could come from the puppet instead of the vent. What do you guys think? Best, Jim |

It's a nice idea but as this is a version of the Koran Medallion you would need both hands to perform the effect. The puppet would have to remain hidden until the climax because it would look wrong to have it on display before the name is revealed, which would lessen the impact. Any fumbling you do to get the puppet on your arm could be percieved as you writing the name on the nametag - not nearly as strong as having it on display throughout the effect and letting an audience member check the tag at the end.
Why not introduce your puppet's pet dog during the vent routine - he's very obedient. The puppet shouts sit!, Stay! and the toy dog doesn't move. Close the vent routine with the puppet asking if you can decide on a name for the dog and then go into the Archer routine.

Ah, I see. I'm not familiar with the workings of the Koran Medallion. I'll have to look into that.
I like your idea too. The puppet could even talk all through the show about how he wants a dog/cat/lizard... and then because he's been such a nice good puppet, you give him one. Then off to the races with the naming routine. |
