In my prize-winning rope act (many years ago) I started with a rope stretch and I closed with a one.
The first stretch looked like this: I started barehanded and took a little pieace of rope (20 cm) from my pocket. I stretched this piece to about 80 cm. Next I took a second short rope and did the same to this piece. A third piece of rope also grew to the same lenght as the previous two. Then the three ropes became one and I tossed it into the audiece. At the closing of my act I took a piece of rope (120 cm)and made a loop of it by knotting the ends together. This loop could be inspected by a member of the audience. Than this loop was stretched to a loop of about 8 meters in length. The first effect is - I think - original with me. I haven't (yet) put it to paper. The last routine is in my (all ring and rope) lecture notes. the only problem: it is in Dutch! |
