I am ready.
If you are not doing pre-orders perhaps you could allow people to send you their e-mail addresses so they can be ordered immediately upon notification. This is the kind of thing I want to see while the ink is still wet...wonderful! |

When Magicians come into the shop, I encourage them to buy books. I have hundreds of Magic books, I collect them as well as read them. However, that being said. 99% reject my opinion and go for a DVD. Why? Because they can't learn from a book so they say. Though most of you will say you love books, I bet only a small percentage of the almost 30,000 members we have on this forum actually read, and I mean ACTUALLY read. Not just flick through and get a couple ideas, I mean sit, learn and rehearse the routine as it was created. The price is about right I would say, though Devin can obviously set it at what he likes |

They are considering putting a DVD with the manuscript, which is where the concerns come from. I don't want to see this turn into "The Cloud Trick." I'd rather pay a higher price myself.

The DVD if included WILL not teach the methods. It would be a performance DVD. You will have to read the book to learn the secrets. You will need a good understanding of the WHY to pull this off properly. We don't feel that a DVD will show this properly, this is material that needs to be studied via a book. You need to learn a script. A DVD isn't the best way to learn a script or patter. Once again this is best shown on the printed page. I know most people don't want to read books, so our secrets are quite safe.

Having read Jerome's posts here and elsewhere, and seeing other material Devin has to offer, I think what is being produced here will be a work of absolute wonder. The feat in itself sounds (and that's all I can say, unfortunately not yet having witnessed the miracle myself) incredible. Being written by two such experienced and seasoned performers, I'm sure that the work will be something worth waiting for.
Eagerly awaiting the arrival of this manuscript, Harry.

I wouldn't mind a higher price tag, but then like others have said, putting it in a book will probably mean that many will dismiss it anyway. But we def don't want stuff like this to become common and be exposed and overused on youtube etc.

Devin, I have a couple of questions.
Can the spectator literally pick a cloud and be watching it while it is turned into, say, the ace of clubs you forced on them? And is the impromptu version any less convincing than the "device" method? Thanks a lot, and I'm looking forward to it. -Dengez |

With my method, you point to the sky and the revelation is there. Jerome has another approach in which the person looks at the cloud they choose and sees the image of the card in the cloud. We both use different approaches. Using a device may make this more surefire and quicker but will require the use of a secret assistant. Frankly neither of us use secret devices.
They are explained in the book for completeness. The reader can decide if they use of secret devices is warranted. |

To answer some posts . . . Christopher Williams hit the nail on the head in a prior post. "Publish or perish" seems to be a very real thing! I can relate with Banachek now and the release of his material. For me, this routine (cloud busting) is in the same category as something like PK Time or PK Touches. When I first saw those routines published, I thought, "WHY???". Now, I understand it a bit more.
There are some things you just can't sit on forever. Also, I feel it was only a matter of time before someone cleverly "borrowed" my ideas and published them elsewhere. I feel really good about this, and am doing my best to release a complete, powerful and memorable work. Roth, You would be surprised at how much of this stuff you could still do, clear skies and all! Dengez, For me, a device is not an option. Devin does not use one either, as he stated, and this will be included in the book for the sake of completeness (along with the REAL yogic techniques for acheiving the same). Obviously, you are free to make one (and for pretty cheap), but I do not use them. Y2John and others, I'd be happy to raise the price if that would make you happy! Seriously, thanks you guys for your confidence. I was busting clouds yesterday using the exact same techniques you will be learning. I can't tell you how strong the reactions are . . . you will all see come summer! Kind regards, Jerome Finley.

Just wanted to interject here since I will be publishing this book. This is not going to be your standard magic book. I hope this will be a classic and probably the only complete work on the subject. We're going to go with a perfect bound paperback with full color cover. I'm estimating a little over a 100 pages. This will not be a cheaply put together booklet but a real professionally produced book. I've opted not to cut expenses but to release something we will be proud to have our names behind.

I understand that many want us to raise the price but I realize a lot of you are on budgets. I have figured out the printing costs to professionally produce this. Obviously with any magic book, the market is limited. The price will $39.95. That is firm, no lower, no higher. It's the only way I can afford to print the book the way I want too.
Neither Jerome nor I will get rich off this, its really more of a labor of love and to get this stuff in print. If we are lucky and you guys support this project we may make a little bit. I wanted to price this book at what I thought was fair. I am as sick as you guys are with people charging $60 to 100.00 for a magic book or 30.00 for a ebook download. I want to give you guys something valuable in a nice format (no ebook to prevent piracy on file sharing sites)and still at a fair price. I think when you see the finished product you will all be pleased and think we've set the right price for the material and media that we deliver it in. Devin |
