WOW,
How much fun was that! I am writing a full report on the convention for my local club, but I will post it later here too. But the main things-. I totally agree with Daniel Garcia this was more than a convention, it was like a social gathering of old friends, that just meet! I have never experienced this much camaraderie at a convention before, Sometimes at these things I feel the need to step away a visit the real world for a while, but this one I never wanted to leave. I did try though , I went to have lunch on Saturday at the chick-Fil-a next door, only to end up giving an impromptu interview /lecture about Fire Eating and the Human Blockhead (but it was fun Cliff) The Award winners were great, and well deserved. Close up winner Eric Jones Really has GodsHands, one of the best I have seen. Close up runner up and Memphian, Calvin, is on a start to a great career. The stage winners tied for first place Jason Andrews was actually just passing through town with my friend Steve Daly. His act was so polished, with his good looks, and clean skills and attire, we'll be hearing more about this guy for years! And of Course Kyle Jarrard, impeccable timing, hilarious routines, and a love for comedy, he is ...and I never say junk like this.... the next big thing! In ten years when he is rich and famous I will be able to say I knew him when. To Dave , Ryan, Kermit and the rest of the gang great job. To everyone else, I look forward to seeing you guys down the road! Just, Larry |

Hey guys,
Just wanted to thank each and every one of you for your friendships! I was talking to Jason on the way back to Orlando and all we kept talking about was the friendships that were made. It was amazing how cool everyone was and just laid back. I always love conventions where the focus just isn't on the tricks but getting to know the people you are around. Danny, it was so awaesome to finally meet you! You are such a cool guy! Justin, great seeing you again, and remember, ANYTIME you wanna chat call me, I'm thinking about ya bro! Eric, pleasure to meet you. Thanks for the positive feedback on the workshop, it means a lot...more than you know! I forgot the dude's name that gave me and my "girlfriend" and ride back to the room, but it was a pleasure meeting you and your son and YES...he is going to go far I promise. Brandon Johnson, that move still amazes me. Me and Jason were talking about the whole way back. It very well may be the BEST non-gaffed color change I have ever seen. If you have a magic club back home, by all means due a workshop on that one move alone PLEASE! Thanks for all the people who supported our Restaurant Magic Workshop!!!!!!! We hope you all took something from it and will apply it to book yourself. We were also really happy with the turnout and how many people reaised their hands for questions to be answered...that showed you guys really were interested! I will see you all next year for sure! Dave and Ryan...what can I say? SUPERB JOB! This IS the best magic convention I have EVER been to! You can quote me on that! -Mike Eaton Posted: Jun 5, 2007 1:02pm Sorry Just Larry...how could I forget about you. Your act was awesome and your charm just the same. Keep in touch.........HIGHER! -Mike Eaton |

Hey Michael thanks for the compliments on the move man. I'll try to post a video soon. I have a IBM ring about an hour away that I'm going to join in the near future. This was my first convention but it will certainly not be my last. I also had a lot of fun meeting everyone and hope to stay in touch with everybody.

We really REALLY enjoyed everyone. Your "kung fu" cell phone script is hilarious, especially when you drop the coin and use a "colorful metaphor" (keeping it clean here!) Justin, Daniel, Mike, Kyle, Larry and Sebastion, You fella's are a father's dream come true. Calvin thinks the world of you and to have such positive roll models is rare and amazing. A million thanks for what you do, who you are and how you do it. I am positive we will all meet again real soon. Mike (Calvin's lovely assistant) ;o)

Mike, it was my pleasure meeting you and Calvin. You have an extraordinary bond with that boy and I think you a one heck of a guy! I am a father too trying to look out for my boy and make sure that he stays on the right path. Believe me, that son of yours is incredibly gifted and gives me hope that magic is in good hands for the future. He is a flippin' prodigy. I e-mailed him and told him I would love to help him do a cover design for the "Back-Alley" notes. They look really good so far. I have some suggestions so tell him to be on the lookout .

Well, let's not put all of our eggs in one basket just yet. You're still VERY young. You have your whole life in front of you so look at EVERYTHING you enjoy to do and go from there. A lot of people who are excellent thinkers in magic doesn't neccessarily do it full-time. John Bannon, Guy Hollingworth, these guys have jobs like being attorneys, civil engineers, and other occupations that have NOTHING to do with magic. Mike Close of all people is a fantastic magician but just as equally impressive on the piano as a musician. Magic seems cool right now but who knows you may grow out of it (I hope not). Like I said in the workshop, anytime you get to the point in the future where magic seems to feel like a "job", then you may want to take a step back and let your brain settle. However, you are still young! have as much fun as you can now and create all the crazy magic you can. I believe in you!

Hey guys again it was great meeting everyone and hanging out. I was wondering if the guys who attended the Restaurant Workshop could let me know what they liked and about it. If they thought it was helpful you know that kind of thing. I know I have emailed a few people already but if I didn't please PM your thoughts. Mike and I would like to share our knowledge with other magicians so your feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks again guys and I'm looking forward to next year! Jason |

Woot...I got named in the podcast! Danny's interview rocked and really got his thoughts out there for everyone to hear. Still waiting on Sebashtion to get his million pictures uploaded =) There should be some pretty funny ones in there from the bar I am sure....
Messing with the staff at IHoP was too funny. Tossing invisible coins into the tip bucket freaked the cashier girl out a bit. Definitely good times there. Another year is too long to wait for another convention like this...Dave you guys need to make this happen every 6 months or so! --Jim p.s. Eric's buddy was Dave "The Wallet"....I woulda tried to pickpocket one of those wallets except for him a) being a cop and b) carrying a lighter that doubles as a switchblade =) |

I have been performing magic professionally, for almost ten years now, and I would wholeheartedly say that Michael Eaton's and Jay Wethington's 'The Pitch' audio disk and Workshop has to be the most comprehensive guide to The Business Side of Restaurant Magic to date. Your chemistry together and understanding made us comfortable during the lecutre. The two of tyou flow, quite well.
I look forward to seeing everyone again soon. Here is to Danny, Justin, Michael and Jay, John, Eric, Larry and all the other lecture-ers and performers I can't recall 6 days later and at 6 in the morning. Thank you for your Knowledge and Friendship. Wisdom is not wasted. I personally thank you all. I'll finish this tomarrow Meraux Dantes
