Yeah I know, but They won't answer my e-mails
about shipping. It would be better if I could find it in the Uk. Are there any companies in the UK that sell it? |

Hi Confusion,
Oddly enough, I emailed Kenton Knepper's site on Wednesday to ask about shipping Wonder Words to the UK. They replied almost immediately (Thursday), saying that there is a flat-rate shipping charge of $20 for an order of any size to the UK, which makes it a bit pricey if you're just ordering vol 1, but pretty reasonable for all three. I'm also advised, by a very satisfied Kenton fan, that the Wonder Words Workbook is fairly essential reading, to be used in conjunction with the tapes. However, this appears to be out of print at present. I've also been searching for UK distributors, and thus far have drawn a blank. I'll keep searching, and will let you know if I manage to find a UK source. I'd really appreciate it if you could do the same, if you happen to find one first. As far as I can tell, people are quite divided in their response to Knepper's material. Some praise it as the best thing since sliced cliches, whilst others seem deeply unimpressed. I suspect it all boils down to whether or not it fits in with your individual performing style. Cheers, Tony G. |

Hiya Tony,
No luck so far for a UK distributer but I ordered Kentons Supreme Ultimate Deal from wonderwizards. When I get it I'll give you my opinion on whether it's worth importing. I'll keep looking for you anyway! |

Kenton's work is based on NLP - they are less "trick" than communication technique.
The wonder readings might be the best introduction to nlp liguistics and basics on the market. Interesting on how it fits for the mentalist. Similar to what "pure effects" proposes. |

As you live in the UK, why not look up Ian Rowland and get a copy of his book, the full facts on cold reading? I have a copy of it and it is a great book. I myself, have not checked out wonder words, so I do not know how they differ, but you will get your monies worth from Ian book.

To anyone still interested, I'm UK based and have volume one of wonder words (it's NOT cold reading; that's Wonder Readings) in immaculate condition.

For what it's worth, I think the Wonder Words tapes are very interesting indeed, and well worth whatever it takes to get hold of them. You will learn a lot of subtle touches which can enhance, and indeed transform, any mental routine. The Wonder Words tapes also detail the '2-speak' principle which was exploited to great effect in Docc Hillford's Perfect Mental Club Act (a piece of mentalism genius), and several of Derren Brown's routines, including the sublime 'Reminiscence' effect which was only explained in the very earliest editions of his 'Pure Effect' book and which he deleted from subsequent editions.

I just got Wonder Words and trust me they really improve every thing you do in mentalism. I just tried the invisible deck routine (that uses no deck!) I was astounded when It worked the first time I tried it!.

Wonder Words is a great tool for someone interested in learning more advanced applications of coldreading technique and NLP. If you already have some knowledge, WW and Ian's book can help take you to the next level.

I have Doc's perfect mental club act. I was gravely disappointed! It looks great, I suppose until they audience starts talking to each other! Doesn't it pretty much ruin your validity once they find out what you have done?
I saw his performance before learning how it was done and I wasn't impressed at all. That rarely happens with me. I really feel like one guy who doesn't see the emperor's clothes. Why can't I see it? Jonathan Grant |
