The shop I work in only sells blue. As far as I know, that's the only color they come in. Sorry.

I've only seen it in blue and I do not believe they are true bike backs.

I've never seen red either. It's a great trick though.

I wonder if Cards by Martin could split the special card and put a red back on it? If it's that important.

Just get a blue deck. If you have other gaffs with red backs, then just do a trick where the deck changes backs and off you go.

What do you mean you got it from Mike Close, whas he selling them? Anyway, these only come in Blue and they are made of a more plastic material vice normal cardboard. This increases their longevity, but otherwise are normal blue backed bikes. The routine is easy and very commercial if used correctly.

It depends who or where I'm doing it. I forgot the hammond effect so I can't do it now.

The Hamman count is an valuable "Arsenal weapon" and is worth learning not only for this great effect, but also for countless others.

Neil Lester (cards by martin) could definitely make a set for you with red backs, if you sent him a blue backed version. The guy is awesome!

Rickbc,

For a small investment, you could buy Phil Goldstein's Focus. He teaches the Hamman Count there plus you get 60 great effects to boot!

Also, Harry Lorayne and a ton of other authors teach this valuable sleight in numerous places throughout the literature. Of course, the obvious choice is "The Secrets of Brother Hamman" by Richard Kaufman.

Best,
Vlad

I HATE when I forget something, but, Rickbc, for a mere 7.50, you could buy Peter Kane's "Gypsy Curse". The Hamman Count is used and taught there as well. You get a cool effect that has spawned some really cool handlings. The works of Christian Chelman, Ron Bauer, and Derek Dingle immediately come to mind.

Best,

Vlad

Actually, in Focus you can find the effect that I recall it is based on, Five Card Polka p.55).

Since in Bicycle Built For Five the cards are a packet of jokers not taken from the deck the back colors should be of no importance.

I used to prefer the beer ending also Smile

Paul.
