I made my guess. But it really hard to tell from that picture, so it's pretty much a flat out guess.

HA!! I kinda of recognized him, but I also used some deduction to get the answer. I had a feeling I might have nailed it.

Thanks, that was fun!

Good call, Vandy.

I didn't guess but I probably would have looked for number 51 and been wrong.

I looked for number 51 and didn't find it. None of the guys with numbers in the fifties looked like Butkus. I knew he played both ways in H.S. And I knew he was a ball carrier on offense. A number in the 40's wouldn't be uncommon for a fullback/linebacker/Defensive back in High School.

He also looked like on of the bigger kids on the team, that made sense. And those eyebrows stood out. He also looked like the toughest kid on the team, even in that pic he looked kind of badass. And he kinda looked like a young Dick Butkus.

My mom told me when I was just a little kid, just starting to talk alot, a picture of Dick Butkus came on the TV and I pointed at the TV and yelled "Dick Bathtub"! So me and DB go way back. LOL!

Good reasoning.

It makes sense the best athletes would play both sides of the line. It probably happens in High School football today albeit to a lesser degree.

Butkus is the man. Before I even knew football, I knew the names Butkus, Unitas and Namath. Those were the names I heard my uncles talk about in the bar room. Besides, my older brother used to toss me an object and when I caught it he would pound me like Butkus pounding a RB. We have some of it on 8MM film.

Butkus was as tough as they get.

Thanks for that picture, Mai-Ling

Mai-Ling PM'd me and, although she didn't say it directly, hinted in a round-about-way that I was in fact right, and Vandy was wrong. I wouldn't go that far, but do believe my guess was more right than his otherwise right guess.

Well, she probably just felt bad, cause she was rooting for ya. Trying to let you down easy and all.

But nothing escapes my keen eye and powers of deduction. You never had a chance son.

No thanks, I've never been inside a Starbucks. I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I'm already hyperactive, after a couple cups of joe I get real twitchy. LOL!
