I place a coin on the table, wave my hand over it and *THUD*
Coins bang on impact with the raven! How can i prevent this? |

The felt covering should prevent that for the most part.
Time your patter to cover the what noise there is. Don't let there be dead silence.

Cement another small piece of felt on the raven.

I would say to use something else other than the Raven. There is a thread or two on this very forum that discusses some alternative gizmos that work similar to the Raven but use different “stuff” to do the work. No special coins needed. No extraneous noise to mask and in fact, no noise at all.

There is a product used for speaker building that is very thin and would deaden the sound if glued on the gimmick. Search "do-it-yourself speakers" or "speakerbuilder" on google.
