Twice over the past few months I have had two seperate online magic dealers take my order, take my money, and THEN tell me the item is not in stock. I am still waiting for the two items. One was supposed to be in stock in mid-March, and, according to the email I was sent, I should have gotten the other item last week. Both are big name dealers. Maybe I'll see one of them at his conclave in April. All I can say about the other one is, "WOW" they are still advertising on this site that the item is in stock! This is a problem that I know others have had. The dealer takes your money, and no doubt is earning intrest on it, while we the consumers are s.o.l. PM me and I'll be glad to tell you who they are! -J.R.

This is a BIG place! I looked everywhere around here for the proper place to post this. I guess this is the best spot. Sure hope folks look in the corners around here.
I just received an Ellusionist Bicycle Ghost Forcing Deck in the mail today. I DID NOT order from Ellusionist... I ordered from some online company that I won't mention at this time. This may have been my first mistake. The deck arrive well packaged and in excellent condition... till I opened it. I found the wrapper opened, the seal broken, only 52 cards instead of 54 as advertised and they were "eights"!!! I never force aces or eights mostly because it's so difficult to clearly enuouncate and hear plainly across a group or room. "Did he say 'ace' or 'eight'?" I'm sure some of you have had the same experience. I contacted the supplier who quickly responded with the following: "We will certainly refund your money or send you a new deck. It's your choice. We are currently out of stock on these and it will be at least a few more weeks until we have more. For the record, these decks do not come from illusionist sealed. They are hand-made in fact as are any forcing deck and you received it just as we received it. With respect to it being an 8, that is a totally random thing. We have no way of knowing what cards the decks will be nor can we request a specific card. We have neither the time nor the manpower to go through every deck and record which decks are which cards. The fact that it was 52 cards instead of 54 sounds like a sorting error on ellusionists part." Could I have some opinions on this matter from those of you who may have a bit more experience than I? I like to think the best but sometime things just don't add up. Dan

Aidan, you may want to call Ellusionist directly concerning this matter. Their phone number is on their website at http://www.ellusionist.com . There is something fishy here.

Aidan,
Have you heard anything back from the company you dealt with originally? If you could PM me the name, that would be helpful. Also, I'm not sure about the sorting error, but I'll ask and see. Since you ordered it from another company, I'm not sure there is much we can do about it. In this case, it sounds as if it is their responsibility as the dealer to make sure their product is intact and presentable, otherwise, they should be the ones to talk with us, as they purchased the decks from us directly, I'm assuming. However, I'll look at the situation and see what can be done. : ) ||sean ||

Most forcing decks are made by taking 52 decks, opening them up sorting the cards, and then putting them back in the box.
I don't think I've ever bought a sealed foring deck. This to me is normal, no matter who the retailer is. David. |

David is right, I found out that forcing decks are always composed of 52 cards, and come opened. We're very sorry about the incorrect website info, we're correcting it immediately.

Well folks.. I did drop Ellusionist a note to confirm this company's statement (right after I posted here but thank-you for the suggestion). Yes the boxes are opened and seals broken as mentioned in the above posts. They are indeed made that way and the gentleman who answered that note stated that there should be 54 instead of 52... I suppose they may include jokers as well but I'm not sure. Sean may want to check that closer.
All in all... I had a bad draw. NOT the first time I drew a bad card, just not so many at once! BUT, that's how the game goes so I'll make the best I can and I'll likely order another deck (directly from Ellusionist of course, can't ALWAYS draw 8s, right???). It defiantly costs less than making my own! I apologized to the company... noted their great shipping and their quick response to my inquiries. And now we know "..the rest of the story." and I'd like to thank you all for your support in this matter as well. My apologies to Mr. J.R. for taking up so much space here on this matter. Other than this I really haven't had much to complain about. Sometimes the manufacturers quality seems quite poor but you generally get what you pay for. I suppose that's why I have a preference for building and creating my own items when I can. Sooooo... let's get on with the topic here. Anyone been burned on those "back-ordered" deals???
