If I was there I would have been a little more enthusiastic than the crowd there was. I love Jazz and swing. I liked how you worked the magic to the songs, and you actually sung too!

Great combination of voice and magic, very captivating and impressive.

Two little suggestions - 1) the red knife doesn't show up well against your red suit.

2) I also thought the dancing cane routine was too long. Maybe change it into a silk early on, then perform the silk through mic stand bit OR the knots off silk OR both. Then ball up the silk and toss out one of your hand streamers (I think it would work if you did a streamer at the beginning AND at the end of your act. As a matter of fact, when you toss the streamer at the end, you could produce an appearing cane afterwards... giving you a full circle). My thoughts on your first song are, by performing 3 or 4 different effects in this first song, it will quickly move the audience into realizing... "Oh, he sings AND does magic too"

Keep up the excellent work.

I am impressed by the way you have carved out this "charecter" and really taken it. EVERYTHING is in charecter. That is dedication to an idea. The singing, and the magic, cool charecter, I have NO idea what the audiences problem was! They really needed to be reacting far more than they did. I am with Bill, I would have.

I gotta say that even the little "tells" which usually bother the heck out of me, I am completly unmoved by. Your charecter is so well put together, and your vision for what it is you want to do is very strong. I don't know how long you can keep it up for, but for the time it is on this, I am very impressed.

I don't know...

Not much energy from the crowd, that's for sure.
Then again, maybe most of 'em already seen your bit at other conventions. These groups tend to run together sooner or later. I imagine this happens to others quite frequently. Sort of like working a restaurant for the same guests. Over and over.

DON'T GET ME WRONG, I like your show, I love swing, and you are a great performer.

just my humble opinion...
I am truly blessed to have a job where people are laughing all the time and everyone believes in magic....Come to think of it, I'm blessed to even have a job.

Bob,

I hear ya baby! This WAS in my backyard. Most of the gang has seen this act at some time or another. If you remember, the reactions at Magi-Fest were very different! And at IBM 2005 when I was a Gold Medal Finalist, the crowd went wild!
