You can't fake that kind of sincere, he came across as an artist.

The thing is Guy and the Cirque empire are unequaled in the world today as a creative machine.
For anybody who has ever been inside the Cirque HQ in Montreal (the centre of the circus universe) and been in awe of the sheer size of the campus and the creative machinery contained within, putting this level of creative resource into CA's show will almost gurantee the re-invention of the large magic show into something we've not seen before.

This kind of babble usually sounds trite and hollow, but in the case of Guy and Cirque mixing it up with CA, I think we may be in for the first 'something new' since Doug Henning hit the Stem.

I'm not a big fan of MindFreak, but I'll certainly be waiting for the time when CA's showmanship mixes with Cirques braintrust and both hit the Luxor stage......LIVE where CA can prove us all wrong for good, and where magic belongs.

Cirque OWNS Vegas. The top rated 3 shows in Vegas are Cirque creations. I expect there will still be controversy regards this show. I remember the controversy regards S&R's show. It was as much of a broadway production as a magic show. It had at least 50 cast members/dancers and was a spectacle to see but did get some criticism from magicians for being too mechanical.

Criss will be sharing the stage with other talented people in what will be yet another spectacular no doubt but expect to hear these complaints in the future.....

#1. I wanted to see Criss Angel and there were all these other acrobats and dancers in the show.

# 2. Criss sold out. He's too commercial now...he's become too Disney-like.

# 3. There wasn't enough magic. ( too much dance and theatre)

# 4.There was too much magic. ( not enough dance and theatre)

# 5. It cost me a fortune for the tickets and I still had to buy them 3 days in advance to get a seat as it was always sold out.

These were common complaints regards S&R's show but #5 was the only one that really mattered to S&R. LOL

Best,

Tim

I agree. The sheer fact that Cirque is teaming up with CA is amazing, fun and fascinating. For Cirque to me stands for ultimate creative thought. They throw everything out and reinvent things from new. They are the ultimate in creative thinking and they do it so well. I have been a huge Cirque fan for years because I love the fact that they can grab abd hold an audience forhours entranced in the world that they create and the audience LOVES the journey they go on.

The idea of taking Cirque and combing it with magic just fascinates me. I can only think that the end result is going to be so different, so new, so creative and something that the world has never seen from a magician. I am really looking forward to the end result of their collaboration.

This is a show I´ll like to attend soon. I love all that Cirque has done and combine with what CA does, should be very interesting. As said before, here is his chance to proof all his critics wrong. The only thing that I would worry is the feeling of "where does actual magic ends and special effects begin?". It will be worth seeing.

He certainly will have to battle that element of how much is FX and how much is magic. I am sure Cirque and CA will work on that to be able to bend them together so you still create a great experience without dulling the magic in it. It should be very interesting.

I like cirque and criss's music but, I don't like to watch them. Just my personal opinion on that one. I have never liked blaine or angel.

They both use to many set-ups. If you can't do a trick without setting up a person in your audience then you souldn't do the affect. I don't care how amazing a trick might be, you just shouldn't do it.

One thing Cirque does better than most when developing large scale entertainment spectacles, is to keep the human element front and foremost.
Human beings ultimately are what the shows are all about.

Guy and crew are at heart jugglers, stilt walkers, and clowns.......Cirque at its very (and these days seldom seen) heart is still a group of street performers from Quebec City.

As sole owner of Cirque (Cirque has no shareholders), Guy has singular power to vet any element of ANY Cirque show he feels doesn't reflect Cirques values and core beliefs.

Having said all of that, it's still a live show and live shows aren't EVER a sure thing.
Folks always make their final comments on ANY live show where it counts, and that's at the box office.

But I think many folks have a good feeling about where the Cirque/CA show might go simply because it's the first time in a long while that anybody has tried to take magic someplace it hasn't yet been.

That is what I like the most about this joint venture. Cirque has been known for its innovative concepts for entertaining the audience who see the shows. The shows they create scream creativity and he has really invented a new artform that has not been seen before. I also like the fact that in every Cirque show the performances that take place really are front and center and usually highlighted in a good way.

Including Kĺ which venue is just amazing. I hope the do the same with his show .. I have no doubt all the high end venue / gear and gadgets will be thrown at this production. Whats interesting. Is cirque has always been very propritary. Will be interesting to see whom they choose to create the illusions & magic for the show . . .

I think this show will be great. If you go back and watch the original Mindfreak shows that were recorded from his broadway run you see a fresh and unique performance style. Now I don't really care for the stuff from the A&E series but Chris put together a made for TV package.. something that really worked for A&E.

I don't know if Cirque is planning any other new shows for Vegas right now.. so that beng said, all their creative efforts will be going into this one.. put that together with the Angel team and you can bet all the other top heads in Magic, Steinmeyer, Gaughan etc etc.. I think you set the grounding for something spectacular. And with how popular magic and Cirque have been in Vegas, it was only a matter of time before the two joined to take a show on the strip to the next level.

Cirque is also working on an Elvis-themed show at the present time. Not sure which resort it will open at.

Can't wait to see the Luxor show...

Never mind - the Elvis show will open in 2009 at the CityCenter, currently under construction.
