Hello:
I'm curious if anyone has started using this routine in children's shows. I'm thinking about getting this - I loved the routine ever since I bought the John Archer DVDs. Now Alakazam has put out the props to do this. This really appeals to me because I believe this routine can be done for all audiences except the really young ones - kindergarden and younger. It might even work for them. I love the hook of having a stuffed animal, and having the kids come up with a name for it! So, I'm curious...is anyone having success with this? For those unfamiliar with this, you can go to Hocus Pocus or Alakazam and watch a video demo. It's basically Don Wayne's "Room Service" routine done with a dog collar instead of a hotel room key. Thanks for any help. Ron |

I'm actually thinking about getting this routine as well - but using it on a real dog. I have a well trained, gentle labrador retreiver that would go along with the program.
Can you say dog food and vet bills tax deductable!? LOL! Lyndel |

I just got the dvd a couple of days ago, and enjoyed watching Collard. I would love to hear how others are using it, as it looks like it would go over really well.

Thanks for the responses, Brian and Lyndel. I think the way I plan to present it is to have the kids see if they can guess the name of the dog. They then put together the name, letter-by-letter, and then are proven correct by showing the tag with the same name.
I think this might play well. I think most kids, even at a young age, know how hard it is to guess a number someone is thinking of. By having put together the name, letter-by-letter, it get a reaction of, "Wow! How did we do that?" rather than me showing how good of a mentalist I am. I like this routine the more I talk about it. I think I am going to buy it! Ron |

Still do not have it but I'm thinking to use an animal Puppet or spring animal for this routine. It's feasible?

I love the sound of this trick very similar to Don waynes room service. Using a puppet with this I think would be tuff to do. to make this trick work and look right you have to use both hands.

I've been using something similar for a while Ron. I am going to replace part of that routine with Collard. It's a bit late here in the U.K. (2am!!) but if you drop me a P.M. I'll write up my routine for you after I get some sleep.

I just received this and it's very well made. I'm going to start working on the routine (thanks to Kimmo) right away. BTW, the best price I found was at MJM Magic. It was slightly less than $60.00 with free shipping.
I'm very pleased with my purchase. Ron |
