Yes -- but would we not all agree, that sometimes good things come from those with bad customer service skills?
And pure crap from those who are beating down your door with GOOD customer service? I would sooner wait through hell fire and brimstone for a nugget of gold from Luke then be given an instant nugget of crap from some of the others who pride themselves on GOOD customer service. If you are willing to base the merits of a product based on it's packaging, and the speedy manner in which it got to you -- then I believe you are missing the point...

Nope, not missing the point, but you can try to label it like that all you want.
Good things can come from those with poor customer service skills, as can horrible things. You are trying to define what I buy in terms of customer service, and, as such, I failed to communicate what I was saying. However, in the event that you didn't actually read my post, here is what I said: "There is a lot of good material out there and I will always preferentially buy things from people with good ideas AND good customer service." Actually, reading that again makes me realize it was crystal clear and completely destroys your argument before you even posted it. Funny how that works (here's a hint for you reading it again, "people with good ideas"). -Carlos

I did miss that point!
:) My point here is -- I will suffer through the bad service if it means I am getting something great. Which by all indication, is what Luke has given....

Hi friends
Luke's customer service is very good. He replies to emails usually within an hour or two and is a very honest and trustworthy person. Simple rule: A Jermay PDF is a Good PDF. P.S. To those who think I am Luke Jermay - no, sorry, wrong. My name is Nick Mead. |

I get you, truly I do. But, as house poor as I currently am, there is a "priority list" if you will.
I'll give you a couple recent examples: Jim Callahan was running low on "Something" and I decided that the portion of money allocated out of my annual bonus for "magic" purchases would be well spent here. I loved his ideas AND he was a consummate business person. Then there was a thing about Leap of Faith on eBay. I then bought Leap of Faith. Shortly thereafter, I bought Intelligent Redesign. The point is, I had enough money to buy some of Luke's nuggets but made a decision, based on the information I had. I am completely thrilled with my decision. Here is the funny thing, I would probably be just as thrilled had I spent the money on Luke's stuff too! But I had an additional criterion that I used. -Carlos PS- I should add that if money wasn't a factor, I would buy everything Luke puts out.

Jim's stuff is Gold -- and Jim is a great person to deal with, no doubt about that.

Okay, I think we understand each other, now moving on to another topic that maybe Nick can help with.
As I mentioned, I have to prioritize what I spend my money on (owning a house in the San Francisco Bay Area is tough). Now, it is pretty much a done-deal that I can't/won't spend a "relatively" large amount of money on something when all I know is "Four Words" and "Luke Jermay". Maybe that makes me cheap, I like to think it makes me discerning. I've corresponded with Luke via email before (he is going to send me part of his new book once it gets done being edited, or so he said in an email, he might have forgotten). Would he tell me if I emailed him? If he didn't, does not buying the effect make me a bad guy? These are all questions that, I hope, brings this thread back on track. -Carlos

Couldn't agree with you more! I am 22, I put myself through the Fire Academy AND Paramedic School and now I save lives every single day! I take the comment, "Luke has accomplished more in his short time on earth than most of you have during your rather lengthy stays..." as a personal insult. Granted, it was not directed to me, but there are far more valuable people on this earth than Luke Jermay. Choose your words wisely! Josh London |

That was my point Josh. I would put a lot more value in what you do every day vs what a pro mentalist does.
I think Jeff ment in mentalism. If that is the case I would agree. Jermay has done a lot. Certainly more than I have and many here on the Café. |

I agree too, that Luke has done mentalism a tremendous service with combining Wonder Word's philosophy with mentalism effects to create powerful routines. I do own a lot of Jermay material and if it wasn't for his lack of customer service and "iffy" reviews of his last publication (or lack thereof) I would be all over this PDF.
But, I'm not. He made me lose all confidence of his material. Then this guy Nick comes on with only 4 posts and says, "Luke has something new out, it's limited, I can't say anymore!" Seems a little fishy to me. Josh London |

Yes Chi, but Jeff is still generalizing. Now, I happen to like most of Luke's work, but that does not count with what Jeff said.
You see, it's difficult to know if people who posted those remarks are armchair people or working pros because of all of those pseudonyms and phantasy nicknames allowed here. BUT - at least one person who posted against this new offer cannot be considered an armchair one and neither one who has accomplished LESS than Jermay in Mentalism because that simply is NOT TRUE.
Then you'll rise right before my eyes, on wings that fill the sky, like a phoenix rising!

Hi
I purchased The Bigger Three by Luke Jermay. It cost $200. It arrived later than advertised. It was loose pages printed on single sides of paper from a laser printer. It was tied with a bit of ribbon, not bound. It did not come with any art work as advertised. I have heard no mention of this since. It did not come with a DVD as advertised though I'm told that will arrive one day. The manuscript itself is full of obvious spelling errors and bad grammar. The effects themselves are far from ground breaking, both method-wise and performance-wise. I emailed Luke to tell him I was unhappy with my purchase. He emailed back to say that I clearly did not understand that he was a genius and he could do what he wants when he wants. He also mentioned he would be going 'underground' and releasing products under the the name 'Nicholas Mead' from now on. All this saddens me very much. |

The true art of being a genius is insisting that you are one and having the patience to wait on others realising it!
