I googled "Gilbreath" and it returned a thread from the forum, albeit in text form without the colours and links and stuff.
There was another one about recovering from a mistake like a TT falling off with a silk hanging from it! Very funny!!! Anyway, when I worked out it was here I registered pretty much straight away...

Members of the Dallas Magic Clubs on their site list their favorite site, several listed the Café so I took a look and the rest is history.

What a great question.
I honestly can´t remember how I stumbled onto the Magic Café but I do recall how excited I was when I first discovered this wonderful forum. I have to confess that the Café has become a part of my life and brought me so much closer to this wonderful craft which we lovers of magic, the world over, share. Saludos, José.

I think I was googling "Hand of Cleopatra" (or the name of some other effect... not sure which one it was).

Back in early '05 I was checking out a website called "The Magic Files" (no longer exists) and found "The Magic Café" under their forum links. I lurked for a couple of days, then joined and the rest is history.

Hi Dynamike,
I came across it a couple of years ago as a result of a Google search. Poked around a bit and bookmarked it for future interest. Over the last year I've lurked and found what an incredible resource and community it is. Finally bit the bullet and registered today! All the best, Mike |

One day I was searching for a magic trick. The name of the magic trick was mentioned in The Magic Café. That is how I found it.

I stumbled across Steve Brooks' review section (Tricks and Accessories) when I was googling reviews of Exit by Peter Eggink. I immediately became interested in the forums and decided to join. Also, I second everything that elgranmago said above. The Magic Café has been my new favorite site since the day I found it.

A former fulltime magician who is now my coworker told me. The first time I visited, someone was talking about Harry Lorayne. A couple of messages down, Harry replied. I felt that was a good sign.
