I don't know if it;s the same out there for you guys, but it seems that the paintwork for the set of coins were rather fragile for me--one of the small coins already got half of its paint scraped off......

in such a case, I'm looking for methods to help getting the coins last longer before I need to pay for another set (which is very expensive)...I was thinking of adding a layer of tarnish/transparent coating, but I have no clue what or how this would be accomplished, i.e. which brand, how to apply, etc. nor do I know if the added layer would make the coins too thick for the shells to nest over anymore....

anyone willing to give any directions to this? Or maybe your solutions to the problem? a million thanks

I had the same problem here. I thought I would lightly wax them to protect them and make them work better, ended up half the paint falling off. Not sure how to further protect them from this happening again.

Wow, I was thinking about getting this because I heard they were the perfect chinese coins... glad I heard this. That is a shame. I wonder if there is any protective coating that would solve this

I recieved them in the mail and I immeditly sent them back....i agree, horrible quality paint but you have to admit it's a good routine. Does anyone know if Evans has contact info beacause I might just try to tell him to make better quailty coins.

best wishes,
Jordan

Actually we should not direct the question to just onwers of the set alone; anyone out there as coin workers actually know how to apply protective paintwork on metals in the Café? there has to be an expert or two on the feild in the Café....right?

I hope I don't sound too forceful......it's just the desparation?
