That's not the name of the festival. Tim's show, as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, is called 'Poker In The Face'. I was hoping to post a review of it on here, as I think I'm one of the few Melbournites that regularly post on the Café, but a busy work scheduele has meant I have made it to very few festival shows this year. Sorry Tim!!

By the way, airship, one of the reviewers seemed to think the show's name (POKER IN THE FACE) was "vile" too.

Am I just missing the entendre here? I get the gag about poking someone in the face ("Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick" etc) but is there some sort of x-rated meaning I'm missing here?

The show's title is (very innocently) based on this premise:
"The art of poker is not just in the hand, but in the face."
