That ROCKED! I'm a BIG fan of coins across and Rannie, you killed! To tell you the truth, its gotta be one of my absolute favorite versions. Its the impressively visual, in your face, don't even think about blinking magic that makes your version simply stunning.
Brilliant my friend, brilliant. Dan

I was there when this baby was in the making...
Salamangkero would show a move... then The Boss would retaliate with another that compliments Salamangkero's... then Salamangkero would retaliate with another... then The Boss would... well... you get the picture, right? From one simple move... it now comes to this... The Boss and Salamangkero, I just can't keep up with you guys... This is one of your best creations yet! The Manila Famiglia is proud of you... |

Nice job.
In the opening effect would the routine work for you if you incorporate a subtle misdirection by slowly opening your left hand as if you where getting ready to catch the coins. I feel my eyes would have then moved from your right hand to the left hand. (Understand that I can’t see your eyes/face during this clip.) Keep them coming. ~John |

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful....! Just a wonderfully well done coins across routine. Nice and clean...Sweet! It doesn't get much better than that, riding or walking, standing or sitting. And that's why they call him the "Boss!" "R&R Quatro Cantos" is another winner from the magical mind that never sleeps, from epicenter of the Manila Familgia. WOW! Gotta go back and check that again...Wicked man, Wicked! -MB

What I enjoyed the most (besides the great sleight of hand), was Rannie's timing and use of pauses.

Just watched the clip this morning for the first time, and I thought it was very, very nice.
So I thought I would send the link to a working magician friend of mine. I send it, and he views it, and the following conversation occurs... Him: “nice, looks a bit like CoinOne...probably the same gimmick” Me: “I don't think there is a gimmick involved...looks like it could be done with just good timing and misdirection” Him: “I severely doubt it” Now, this friend of mine is no slouch - he works regularly PT doing shows, has been involved in magic for a decade, and was the president of his local SAM chapter for 2 years (but in his defense, he is not really a coin guy). So this led me to sending Rannie a PM, to see if I can determine who was correct in this matter - me, believing no gimmicks were involved, or my buddy, who felt strongly that there was a gimmick used. Rannie confirmed what I believed - no gimmicks. I just wanted to post this little story, because I believe my friend's initial reaction, spoke very highly of the performance.

Thank you Giacomo! Thank you indeed. Its great to hear from esteemed coinmen. Among the top coinmen I sent a demo to, it is only you who responded. that's very nice of you to take time off and even PM me with your thoughts. It is very much appreciated. It makes me push myself to do better and better with my magic.
Rick, Thank you for noting the pauses. I believe that pauses are important in magic. Pauses are still part of the rhythm. As a drummer for 36 years, I know the value of pauses even in music. I am only applying it to my magic. I'm glad it worked. John, Perhaps the face and the eye would help. Actually...I am certain it does. I take note of my audience eyes and head movement. The moment I toss the coins... their head moves. Almost like watching a tennis game. They actually refer to my right hand only after I open my right hand. Of course the main target of our routines are laymen.....but I perform for magicians as well as I am a regular lecturer in Manila... it works all the time. I have 2 new alternatives for the ending...actually 3. The latest upgrade feels just right for me. I had a lengthy talk with Justin Miller and we exchanged ideas on Cuatro Cantos. He has some sound suggestions and I am also exoerimenting with it. Its always fun to work. Later......back to my coins....! Rannie Its 4am in Manila time and all I can think of is CC! LOL! People are are beginning to accuse me of being addicted to coins!!!Sheesh! They gotta be joking!

I love this routine, and I must admit that I thought something too, but I was wrong. What you're watching is sheer cleverness and technique by a coin guy that never sleeps and is really thinking all this stuff through in triplicate. This is indeed a very clever routine, but rannie has many of them. The guy should be on tour, worldwide. I think folks would love him...He is clearly a Master in the making.
I'm going to go watch this thing again. Cover me, I'm going in. -MB

Ok Rannie, first off, love it! Sensational!
Secondly, as this is impromptu, can it be done with four different coins? |

It certainly can! Glad you liked it! Funny you mentioned that idea....I was playing around with it last night!

Just another update:
I showed the clip to another magician friend. This one works full time in NYC, and have a couple DVDs out and lectures. He said, “pretty good, nice use of a shell” :)
