This is availible through the Trickery, but I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the effect.

Hi Brad:

I bought this item from the Trickery. It's an El Duco item and is very nice. The silks are very well made. However, I don't do the trick because of the bad angles. The audience has to be in front of you, really. This may not bother you, but I perform mostly in people's homes, and usually have people on my sides. There're too many other good tricks out there that aren't angly, so I doubt I'll ever use it. It's very cool in the right situations, though.

Hmm...I was thinking about performing on a stage, but I'm rethinking purchasing the effect now. Thanks for your help.

Just plain zebra silks (red and white or black and white) in sizes 12" to 36" are available from Ricker here on The Magic Café. You can make many of your own effects with them.

He also has zebra streamers.

Hi Brad

I am using this effect in every show.
I change a white silk to a Black silk, then I “”explain” how to do it, and finish the act with changing a White and Black into a Zebra silk.

The Zebra Silk as explained by El Duco is a Blendo that does not use any true gimmick, and does not leave you clean as most blendos. I perfer to use a palmo instead as the clean-up is a lot better looking.

As Ron Reid said the handling that comes with the prop is very angley. It is very nice looking handling but very angley. I like the effect but had to come up with a different handling to avoid the bad angles. Here is a link to my handling.

The cuts are due to people walking in front of the camera. I wouldn’t cheat you… honest.

Sorry Ricker. I just couldn't pass that one up!

Would the next part be "Zebra striped" or "Blank"?

Carbone,

Don't know if you do or not, but it looks like you could go into Tony Clark's gloves to streamer, as part of this routine.

That's what the gloves are for. It is a nice bit.

Am I psychic or what?

Question: Why are you using "Pink" Panther music to a "Black & White" trick? (hehe... just kiddin')

It has a mysterious yet playful sound. That was the image I was trying to create.

The El Duco Zebra silk can be very angly but I have sucessfully been doing this trick for 15 or so years now in every condision even close up and surounded. It just takes gotts and a bit of a laied back attitude to the whole thing.
