Carsten,
I was close friends with Michael for many years...it dosen't get any better. This DVD set is a must for any close up worker. Also the three teach-in DVDs with one effect each: Linking Rings...Color Changing Knife's...and his signature effect,Ring on a stick. Do yourself a favor and buy them. Don |

Carsten,
Don is quite correct and you would be doing yourself a great disservice if you didn't buy these! You'll learn some fantastic magic from one of the greatest magicians who ever lived. Iain. |

I read somewhere that Michael was sick while filming these tapes (which were later transformed into DVDs). Is this true? Does his sickness affect his performances or explanations?

Hi Carsten,
Yes, I heard that Michael wasn't in the best of health during the taping of these, but please don't let that put you off. Micheal performs these effects with his usual class & charm and explains them with the help of Roger Klause, very clearly. There is much to learn from these DVD's and not just the tricks themselves. His Ball and Vase routine was a personal highlight. There is a lot of good material on this set.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

Every magician needs to study Michael's "TIMING" He could make a simple effect, like ball and vase that Jeff just mention a jaw dropper.
I can't stress this enough....STUDY Michael'S TIMING ! Don |

Michael did have some health challenges, but he discuess it. He performed brilliantly on the tapes. The set is a wealth of magic knowledge. He's missed as a magician and a person!

I have to throw My two cents into this thread as well.
As with Don Driver Mike and I were good friends. Mike was in My opinion the best close up magician in the world. The tapes were made when Mike's health was not that good at the time the vids were done but the magic is very good and something that you must study. The Ball Vase example Don gave is right on the mark. It shows how someone like Mike could take an item that everyone and his dog knows how to do and just fool the heck out you with it. You will not think of the Ball Vase as a slum item after you have seen Mike's handling of it. Buy the dvd's you will be glad you did. Randy P.S. Hello Don! |
