Guys, I have trouble with mechanics of a trick and need visual help via DVD. I have lecture notes on a trick where you punch holes in a card and it matches the same holes punched in a spectators card. I forget the name of the trick. Do you all know if this is on one of his DVDs? Thanks.

Brent,
I have a lot of Alco Colombini videos. Please take a look at your lecture notes and post the name of the effect and I'll take a look and see if any of my videos has that particular effect on it. Mike

Is it the ones with the balloon? Although I don't think it is the same effect you are referring to, but if it is, its in Essiential Aldo Volume 1.

For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, none will suffice.

I can't find the notes off hand. It might be "punch his match". I saw him do it in a lecture several years ago. I believe he took a card, stuck it in an envelope and let the spectator punch holes all in it...he did one too..and then taken out separately they matched..

Brent,
I believe the effect may be, "Take a Punch", appearing on True Magic Volume 2 by Aldo Colombini. |

This is also in his lecture notes from a few years ago.

Punch his Match is from his lecture notes booklet "Solutions" (2002).
Two specs punch holes in six or seven cards. These are mixed and one is selected. It matches the card that is in an envelope that has been on display and all the holes in the two cards align.

It's also in his Cardsdotcom book, available for ten dollars on his website:

Is "Take a Punch" and "Punch his Match" the same identical effect (but maybe with an improved handling of one over the other)? "Take a punch" on his "Hong Kong True Magic" video is sure a nice effect.
From Brent's original description (i.e., "I have lecture notes on a trick where you punch holes in a card and it matches the same holes punched in a spectators card."), I think that the effect might be slightly different. In "Take a Punch", Aldo has two spectators each punching holes into cards and then when one of those cards is selected, it matches the prediciton card of Aldo's both in suit and value (i.e. the same card, like the 3D or the 2H) AND it has the same number of hole punched into it AND the punched holes line up EXACTLY on the two cards. If anyone has both "Take a Punch" and "Punch his Match", I'd be interested in learning if the effects are different or just renamed. Thanks for any info. Mike
