For you Americans, a good book to look up on Amazon is "America's First Serial Killer" a London cop who is a ripper fan wrote it on papers written in 1888 he uncovered recently from the superintentant from the case. The suspect was an Irish American who traveled to London associated with whatever was the IRA of his day. He was under survellance from Scotland yard. There are New York Times headlines when he was deported from London on Homosexual charges "Ripper returns to America" From memory, I believe his name was Tumblety. He died in a nursing home run by nuns in Canada around the early 1920's and amoung his pocessions recorded were a couple of cheap womens rings, like those taken from one of the Rippers victims. A very interesting account. It seems Scotland yard knew who the ripper was, but couldn't prove it. Worth a read.

Best Steve Posted: Jun 5, 2007 4:59pm Tony - just looked at Dougeye on your Blog: did you repeat the effect too much, or was it a 'dry night'? ;-) or should that be ,-) ?

The picture looks as it does because of the lighting. It was too dark, and having the eye the other way made it very difficult to see.

Doug,
Value and price are very different things. The value of your work was brought home to me last week when I purchased 3 Victorian looking boxes and a jar for the Ripper Set. They cost more than the set! I'm reading Midnight in The Dark Museum properly now after my initial speed read. It's full of treasure. But what to order next? Destiny |

I was rudely awoken this morning at a vile and unreasonably early hour. Heck, to be awoken at any time in the morning is ungodly! Muttering to myself about death and corn flakes, I duly crawled out of the pit. Barely remembering to dress first, I marched off downstairs armed and ready for yet another theological "debate" with my local Jehovah's Witnesses. My traditional early morning ire soon changed however when I realised that I wasn't about to be told once again that I'm destined to go to Hell - which still beats going to Birmingham anyday! Rather, it was the friendly neighbourhood postman bearing not only Pizza Hut flyers but most importantly my new Ripper set!
I've little to add to what hasn't already been said here before: Horrible props - in all the very best of ways. A deviously simple prediction effect only requiring four of my grey cells to do, leaving the other seventeen free to concentrate on performance. Great service from Doug all the way. I've now eaten the last of my peas, shut the bathroom door and put the loo seat down so I've somewhere to sit as I learn Kotah's words. Fantastic! Thanks muchness Doug! |

Jon you are more than very welcome.

Askernas: Thanks for the Ripper order and good luck in the competition. Yes a few competitions have gotten 1st place with the Higley's Dark Museum!
As to scent with the set you might get ahold of DrCyclops on the forum. He does a few 'nasty' things with it.

The Ripper Set in action (and shameless plug for the bizarre talents of Dr S Murray, Esq., purveyor of strange and psychological magickes to the gentry - contact NOW for preferential booking rates):
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/magicmartyy......7333.htm BIG THANKS to Grand Master Higley (oh and the observant may notice the Rick Roth's 'Whitechapel Pawn book' serving no other purpose than to add to the realism). The moral of the story: Serious magic CAN be presented, CAN win and can be serious WITHOUT always being solemn.
