Ok, finally, I just need to know if these are worth the purchase. Bearing in mind that I've already got Dave's 3 DVDs which are top-notch. Is the best stuff from these books on the dvds already, or do these books give me additional material? Basically, is it worth the dough to get these books since I already have the 3-set dvds. Be honest with me guys!
Thanks, Maxim. |

These books are great. There are many, many more effects here than what's on the DVDs. If you like David Regal's stuff than you will definitely want to have these books, even if you have the DVDs. I also highly recommend Close-up and Personal, and Star Quality it's really good if you can find it. David Regal's books are some of my very favorites--second only to the Paul Harris Art of Astonishment books.

You will find a lot of stuff similar to the dvds but it is a good investment. I love Regal's works!
By the way is he going to produce new dvd series???

Yes, he's already shot some new videos but he doesn't know when they're going to be released.

Well, if some of the material contained in the books are already in the dvds, and possibly in the new ones Regal's releasing, I think I'll have to pass on these ones.
Thanks for the comments. Maxim. |

Maxim, just to make it clear, there's not much that's duplicated between the Costant Fooling books and the DVDs -- probably about a half-dozen effects out of nearly a hundred. No telling what will be on the forthcoming DVDs, but as far as what's out there now, the books are definitely a worthwhile addition.

Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

My count is eight effects in common with the DVD set. Like Quinn said, that is out of near a hundred routines. What is really the bonus of the books is the collection of essays throughout the two. You wont find that information on performing in the DVDs.
One Secret is really a diabolical chapter on a very strong secret in card magic which is just now finding its true strength. My only response is to say, "He who hesitates..." Tom |

As others have said, the two-volume "Constant Fooling" set is a solid investment. The books contain loads of strong material not to be found elsewhere. Plus, they can pretty much stand alone as a complete lesson in performance and scripting. Don't miss out. CW |

Hey thanks for the info, I'll make sure I get them now. As soon as I buy them I bet a constant fooling dvd is gonna come out!
Can I just ask if most of the tricks are gaffed or not? Thanks. Maxim. |

Maybe I am not experienced enough to get all the information from the books. I just think that the books didn't satisfy me. I am not criticizing, but I don't think the material in the books is so great. That is just my 2 cents. But some materials are worth studying.
Sincerely, Alex

Maybe two or three effects at most in each book have been in some other publication or videos of his. The whole point of these books was to show new stuff. I own all three of those DVDs too and Constant Fooling is different. Great material!!! Constant Fooling are great books. I spent all of last night reading them because they were so good. Highly recommended! I expect that a lot of the material on these new tapes of his coming out in April or May will be stuff from these books. I am going to pick them up. I think it would be nice to see some of the stuff from the book done on video (if David did not already perform it at the lecture I went to last night).
????.....Yeah
