After purchasing Bisection and Razorwire (to use in one big routine), I started looking into more of Andrew Mayne's material. Light Storm caught my eye. I've already thought of a unique way to present this, but would like to see a video. Does anyone know where one is available?

Well, know that if you buy Light Storm, you will have to go back to the magic shop to get a special prop to make it work. The prop normally runs about $40-$60. Hope this helps.

Thanks, man. If I find a video and like the way it looks, then I'll make sure I have enough money to build it and get that prop.
Again, thanks for the heads-up. All the best, --Ryan |

I guess I'm out of luck with this one.

Hi Ryan,
I asked this same question some time ago, but had no luck. You could try asking Andrew directly... http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/bb_pr......er=21629 Mark

Why does everyone need a video? If the effect sounds like it would fit in your show, go ahead and buy it. Plus, it isn't even that expensive.

I haven't seen a video anywhere, but take a look at the Gut Buster demo. At the end, there's a clip with what I assume is a piece of newspaper. From the description, Light Storm should look a somewhat like that, minus tearing the paper away. It's a different method, but it should look similar.

I own both Gut Buster and Light Storm. I have performed Gut Buster, but have not built Light Storm yet. Gut Buster is more of a hand penetration directly through the body (think of a hole through the body), whereas Light Storm will look more like your assistant's arm is passing (sawing) through your entire body from left to right and back again. I guess, from a layman's perspective, the effects could look similar in some respects. But, I think they both have merit.
Although, given the similarities, you probably would not perform them in the same show.

The so-called "Gut Buster" illusion was invented way before by Horace Goldin. You should read The Encyclopedia of Magic And Magicians.
