This is excellent! If you want a highly visual monte routine for closeup, with plenty of plot twists, this is the one to get. The tape explains the handling in detail, although it will take considerable time to master it. Anyone who has seen this routine performed by Mr. Page can't help being entertained by it!
It comes with the necessary cards, but Bob Sheets sells an excellent set of cards that make the handling a little easier, besides having a nice camoflage feature when the gaff is brought to the back of the card. The gaffed card is also more durable than the bridge-size version. The Sheets cards are poker sized, whereas the ones supplied with the tape are bridge size. Mr. Sheets also includes a printed routine with the cards. Sorry, I don't have info on getting more of these cards -- I got a set at a Sheets lecture. I think the bridge sized sets can be obtained from Magic Inc. |

Hi Alan:
Thanks for the info. I bought the Patrick Page video and cards and agree - the routine is very entertaining and very magical. I'm going to see if I can hunt down the Sheets' cards because that's really what has kept me from learning the routine. The gimmick seems kind of fragile and I want to buy some back ups. Also, I really don't like Fox Lake cards at all. Do you know what Bob Sheets calls his version? Thanks again. Ron Reid |

Sheets calls his version "Killer Kitson Miracle". It can be made with dental dam and dry split cards, making it very durable. I'll be learning how to split cards, sometime. Bob Sheets has been using the same set for about 5 years and it still works well.

I have the Pat Page cards and the monte works very well. Only problem is that they don't sell replacement cards. You can make your own but they are not as good as the originals. I will have to buy the Bob Sheets version from Magic Inc., thanks Alan.

I am very satisfied with Pat Page 3 card trick and I am very satisfied, too. It is true that the gimmick may not last a long, but you can easily make your own.The first time I saw the gimmick. I can say that I was very disappointed, but when I saw the performance of the trick, I changed my mind...very good version of three card monte.
Don't wait for the perfect moment...Take a moment and make it perfect!!!

It would be nice if they sold the cards and video with bicycle cards or to give you a choice of which ones you would prefer.

It wouldn't surprise me if "Cards By Martin" made the cards that Bob Sheets was selling. They are made with Bicycle Poker 808 stock.
As far as I know, Magic Inc. doesn't sell the poker cards for the effect, just the bridge size. The bridge card set has been sold by Magic Inc. for years. |

This effect is still going strong. I remember being in London many many many many years ago for a visit.
My brother wanted to see The China Syndrome(Jane Fonda, Michael Douglas and Jack Lemmon)1980ish and I got my first set of color monte from Repro AND SOUNDS OF MAGIC, Pat Pages 3 card trick.Have been using it on and off for years, although the original cards went south years ago. It's by far and away one of the BEST card effects I have ever bought. Just my tuppence worth Vernon |

I just contacted Bob Sheets via email and purchased the routine and cards from him. He charges $22.50 for the cards and routine...postpaid. I also contacted Neil Lester at Cards by Martin. He makes the cards, but says he's not sure if they're exactly like Pat Page's. I think I'm going to order some from him also. I believe he said he'd make two red bicycle sets for me for $20.00. I've had Neil make me a number of things, and he does superb work. The last time I ordered from him, the postage was $1.00 less than what he quoted, so he stuck a dollar bill in my package! The cards, that Bob Sheets was selling, were a little different that the Page version. Pages cards were bridge size and the gaff, when revolved back, doesn't camouflage. The cards that Sheets had were poker size and the back of the gaff camouflaged well into the back of the gaffed card. I mostly prefer the poker size because they're obviously more durable.

The dental dam makes the gaff work as if spring loaded. It also makes it easy to tell if it will need replacing, in plenty of time to order another one. I'm concerned that the original version may fail at an unexpected time.
