I just got a new DVD player, and I discovered a terrific feature to help with learning moves(I finally found a DL I like on Greg Wilson's Double Take).

The feature is A-B Program mode. With this feature, you can mark the beginning and end of a section of the DVD and play it back repeatedly, even in slow motion. So I just set it up for the best view of the move I'm learning (ironically, about a second in length), sit down with a pack of cards in front of the TV, and watch and imitate until I feel I'm doing it the right way. Saves a lot of time with the remote!

Yep...the A-B feature gives magicians a huge advantage for learning sleights and effects from DVD.

What a time-saver!

I use my computers dvd player and the one click bookmark feature gives a nice result but no auto play back, I'm sure many pc dvd players give this feature, but anyway I use Nero 7

Thanks for the tip! I was just beginning to feel the urge to throw my cards around everytime I had to put them away to search the beginning of the bit I'm trying to learn.

It's a great help if you don't want to start at the beginning of the scene everytime. The already overused (is that an excisting word in English?) fast forward button will be grateful, I guess Smile
