Seemed like close-up had a pretty good idea about making his own flash bills. I also have a ink jet printer. I checked with the manufactur about how much heat my ink jet printer put out and I was told that it did not generate any noticable heat at all. So I gave it a try ala close-up's method posted above. It worked perfect. I'm now my own source for flash bills. I might add that they burn with no problem or noticeable left over residue.

I remember a post/topic for inexpensive bulk flash paper. I think Vinnie Laraway was the author.

I have used my Inkjet to make colored flash paper and it works well. I'll have to try the flash bill idea this weekend. Will post the results in a few days.

Greetings!
Looks like Steven's Magic has some realistic looking flash bills in either $100 or $2 denominations. They also carry other denominations but I believe those are not as realistic looking. At $16.50 for 7 bills that works out to be $2.36 per bill which isn't too bad. You can see the Steven's offering by clicking HERE Cheers! ** Bill ** |

Stevens has great looking flash bills in several denominations. Just go to their site:
http://www.stevensmagic.com and click on the Search link at the top of the page. Then type in flash bills, and the search page will come up with the different denominations. Bob Phillips |

Actually, (and I work in a print shop so I know this is fact), since US money has gone to mulitple colors, it is legal to copy the bills...with some exceptions. The copy must be:
1. a color other than the original bill 2. 30% smaller than the original bill 3. Single sided (which may explain why you can buy single sided flash bills) 4. Copied on a paper that is dis-similar from paper used in the official production of bills (obviously flash paper is NOT official mint paper!) 5. OR copied at an angle to the paper. As long as your copy meets one or more of these criteria, you are safe. Also, since these bills are literally consumed (literally) there would little evidence left to convict you! LOL |

I find flash bills a wee bit too expensive. Just make your own out of regular flash paper, that is what I do. don't worry on all the little details of the bill, because after all, it is meant to be a substitute of the real bill you have already shown, and plus its seen crumbled up for only an instant before you lite it -DP

We have Canadian Flash Bills, they look very realistic from 3-4 feet away. - Magicians have been very pleased with them. kind-of-magic.com
We make them ourselves - if there is demand for American bills, we can make some up today and see what they look like. I'll let you know. Phil |

Just got the test sheet back - they look great. - much better than the cartoon versions. and even better than the Canadian bills we make.
I will put them up on the website soon. - I just have to check on the laws before selling them. Phil |

I liked close-up's idea. Gave it a try and was very pleased with the results. Worked like a charm. I can now make any denomination flash bill for a fraction of the cost.

Recently I read Close-ups's idea about making your own flash bills. Just have to say that it worked great. At first I was a little concerned about my printer going up in a flash, but it didn't happen. I now have a unlimited supply of flash bills for a fraction of the cost.
