While cleaning out my old magic closet I came upon a trick called "Fantastic". It consists of two pieces of carboard and some cards. A couple of the cards are gimmicked as is one of the cardboards. Although I found the apparatus I didn't find any instructions.
Does anyone have this or the instructions and could help me out by giving me a copy.

Gene Anderson has a great routine for this, and I think its been published, but I forget where? Maybe someone else can inform us.

I guesss it is Hiroshi Kondo's creation released by Tenyo.

This was a great trick l-o-n-g before there was a Tenyo version!
It's a penetration effect of one of the cards penetrating the two card boards that are rubber-banded together. Typically the trick is performed twice--once face-down and once face-up (invisibly and visibly). Julie ![]() |

This trick predates Tenyo by many years. It's been in my closet for over 35 years.

Greetings Ted;
Do you have "Sam's - The Magic of Sam Schwartz" by Allen Zingg ? Starting on page 174 or 175 I believe, is one of the best handlings and routines I have ever seen for this trick, it is something like 8 pages long and very good. I will check later when I get home, but I do believe that Horowitz personally taught this to Sam, at least that is what I remember reading. All the Best Marty |

Martini:
I don't have "Sam's - The Magic of Sam Schwartz". Guess I'll have to look for it.

I completely agree with Marty re: the Schwartz handling. Holy cow, Marty!! Your memory is almost as terrific as your card splitting.

As a side note let me describe his shelf, 16 feet wide x 7 feet tall and 2 books deep. He will reach up and move a book to get to another one and find the routine. If I knew as much as he has forgot I would be the second smartest person I know in magic. You are the man Marty and thanks for being a friend to me. NUMS |

J. G. Thompson's book "Magic To Delight", published in 1970 by Tannen Publications, page 87 has an effect titled "Phantatic" that is based in the Royden trick.
Lots of other neat stuff in the book too. Van
Later Ya'll
