All,
I just wanted to share a new illusion shop for the working illusionist. Great illusions at a very affordable price. I just received my Modern Art, and it works and looks great. It was made specifically for me and made to match my show's color scheme. Please take a look, and I know you will be impressed. It is located at http://www.magicpropshop.com. Patrick |

Wow...those prices are amazing. I'd love to know how they can sell a quality Impaled for three grand...

#1 The shop isn't new....
#2 I'm fairly sure he gets them made over in the middle east, where it costs hardly nothing for labour or materials. |

All,
These props are made in Houston, Texas. I know this for a fact. The builder is Lanny Kibbey. You are right that it isn't new, but it is to me. It was down for a while, but is now back up. It doesn't have to be expensive to be good. My Modern Art is well made, and it didn't cost and arm and a leg. Patrick |

I would love to see their Smoke Chamber. I didn't see a picture of it on their site.

They used to have the exact same photo of a prop on their site that also appeared on on a middle eastern site:
http://www.easternshaman.com/illusion/flashapp-b.jpg It looks like MagicPropShop has a since posted a new site design with different prop images. This image no longer appears. However, when it was up, that would either suggest they had their props made in the middle east or the picture was "borrowed" from the other site. Is there is a link between the two companies?

Hello,
My name is Brian Ledbetter, and I am running the Prop Shop. Our props used to be built by Eastern Shaman, but due to the logistics of handling overseas orders, I am now working with a different builder here in the US. I can tell you that all the props are very well built, and I use several of them in my own show. I am primarily a performer, and I can tell you that if these props we are dealing were not well built, we wouldn't be dealing them. Even though these props are not being built by me, it is my reputation and name on the line. I would not put my name on the line if I did not believe in the products I am selling. Just to clear up any confusion, there is no link between us and Eastern Shaman. We are no longer working with them, simply due to the fact that shipping from overseas was a logistical nightmare. If you have any more questions about the company or the products, feel free to ask! Brian Ledbetter |

Yeah, Brian, is Lanny Kibbey your builder? I know you said your rep is on the line here, and it sounds like quite a few people had problems with his material, let alone even getting it. It would be a shame if you got blindsided by this person and people were pointing the finger at you as a result.

Banester,
You brought up a good point. Honestly, I'm not to worried about that happening -- I don't think it will become an issue. In all my dealings with him up to this point, it has never been an issue, whether it's an order placed through the Prop Shop, or me ordering a prop for my own show. He has provided a quality prop within a reasonable amount of time. Aside from that, it would behoove him not to wreck his perfect record with me, as I can pass a lot of business his way through the Prop Shop. |

Brian,
They are just wanting you to confirm that Lanny Kibbey is your builder. Robert |

Oh, yes, Lanny Kibbey is building. Sorry, I thought that was already established. Now I understand your comment, Chezaday.

I tried to contact the Prop Shop about a month or so ago; e-mailed and called. I never got a response, so I bought an illusion somewhere else.

Brian, when do you think you will be able to post some recent photos of the illusions you will be selling?
Take care, Bryan |

Hi Jethro,
I never recieved an email or call from you, as everything was shut down, including the website. Business got to thick -- beyond what we could handle. So, we closed down for a few months to reorganize so we could work more efficiently. We just reopened a couple weeks ago. Sorry that you did not recieve a reply -- I understand that was probably annoying. We are back up and running now, so if you ever need to get in touch again, we should be able to get your communications. Bryan, Email me letting me know specifically what you are interested in, and I should be able to provide you with recent photos. Thanks, Brian |
