Don't call a handkerchief a "silk." Lay audiences don't refer to it as that, only magicians do. So when you say, "I'll put this silk in the box" the audience think to themselves, "Silk what?" Equivalent of saying, "Hey, nice cotton" when referring to someone's shirt.

BTW I'm TWELVE YEARS OLD!
But i'm still really good. I do magic for kindergarten at my local elementary school, and everybody in my school loves my tricks. Please treat me like an ADULT! Thank You! |

The longest journey starts with the first step. You can't walk into Penn State and ask for a MBA and expect to get a degree on day one, or even year one for that matter. Hang in there and know what your means and limitations are. Go from there and enjoy the ride, don't try to rush. Good Luck.

Hey Drew:
You're off to a good start. When you get to high school (or maybe Junior High) there is usually a talent show every year. If not, start one!! Volunteer to be in the show, maybe even be the MC if you can. And don't rush things, I know a lot of experienced magicians that don't have an appearing cane or a good set of linking rings. Jim |
