Next month, our Ring's meeting theme will be: "Mechanical Marvels: Self-working tricks"........everyone is encouraged to bring 3 - 4 self-working effects.....emphasis will be more on "showing" than "performing" the device/trick.

Anyone have any favorite effects that would fall into I can do a "call out" to our members? ..I'll be bringing some Tenyo stuff.

One of the most unusual themes I have participated in was "Oddity Night."

Every one was encouraged to bring an odd piece of magic.

You did not have to perform the trick so you did not have to expose what it was until every one had a chance to guess what it was and how it was used.

This included a lot of vintage magic which many of the younger magician were left guessing.

It turned out to be a real educational evening.

As a result of this theme I have a box of 12 items I pass out during my magic lectures. If anyone can guess what all 12 of the items are and how they are used I give them a special prize. Every one has so much fun guessing.
