Hi
I have spent this past year designing a 40 minute show, designed to play at covent garden. However the email I have intially been given to contact about performing there i.e. to sort out the insurance and audition, have been disabled. And I have so far been unable to find any way of contacting the neccesary authourities. Any help is mssively appreciated. Yours Faithfully Nick Wait |

If you run into trouble with red tape;
I was there a couple of years ago and theres an office by the pitch and you go in pay @ 150 pounds and if you talk to the other performers the usually wave the audition you can go there and talk to keano that would be your best bet he's one of the veteran performers out there friends with nick nicholis, eddie izzard all of em. |

Going to London for 11 days commencing 1 July and would like to find an apartement to rent near Covent Garden... any suggestions. Like to keep it around 1000 quid per week (or less).

If you want to work Covent Garden Piazza, or the inside pitch, then you do need a licence,, Also for the Piazza you have to be there at 8am for the draw, you'll get 1x 40min show. The Piazza is very big, tough and daunting. The inside pitch you book for the week a week ahead..
Now if you walk down from the tube station to the bottom of James St opposite the Red Phone Box you'll find 'Magic Corner' AKA Bobs Post.. There is no licence needed the only restrictions are no amps 'till 5/6 pm weekdays and the queue with other magicians.. It's a magicians only pitch, smaller than the Piazza but you can pull off 50quid plus shows... Also if you go across the river to Southbank you can find a pitch work all day hassle free hat's are smaller and walk off bigger. Trafalgar Sq was happening last year in front of the National Gallery but is tough and noisey,,, For friendlyness and happyness I would go to Bobs Post... Pete turn up to the Garden and ask around the magicians I'm sure they'll have a room going spare somewhere.. Good Luck Nick |
