Yeah I found out on imdb.com people talking about the ending after the credits. I have to go see it again

I liked the movie, despite the length. I was super tired from working all day and I kept dosing off, but it was a good movie. I thought it was a waste of time to stay after the credits. At the beginning of the credits, I called it out and my brother wouldn't bet me because it was so obvious.

The original ride is one of my favorite childhood memories. I thought it was bad enough when they had to change it a few years ago due to a stupid lawsuit, but I went to Disney this past January and was digusted by how they ***d the ride out to the movie franchise. I thought I was going to lose it when the girl behind me said "Oh look, they even put the dog with the keys in!" I said they same thing when I saw the first movie.

I thought P3 was awesome. Loved the back story - and the "cameo" but Captain Teague is great.
I know a lot of loyalists aren't happy that Pirates the ride was updated to include Captain Jack & Barbossa. I will say this though - the new AAs of Jack are just incredible. You'd swear that was a real person dressed as Jack right there. Unbelievable improvement in technology. -Robert

I hope it is better then the second one.
Did anyone notice that NONE of the major plot points were concluded in that film? Every single bit was a cliffhanger to the next one. |

Quite a disappointment.
May like it if you liked the others though. The series has departed far from the original. |

I saw it over the weekend...and am going to see it again tonight. I'll make sure I stay until the credits are over this time. Of course, they had to leave it where there could be a fourth movie!

Ugh, a 4th movie would make no sense movie noob! There would be no real plot, new characters would have to enter in leaving the character development dead because it would only be one movie. They ended it well.

Sylver and I actually worked a benefit show for "Make a wish" foundation the opening night...
And didn't get to see it. We were too busy tearing down after our preshow to go see the film! Hopefully I'll get to see it this week...I really need to. I'm performing at Pirate Fest in Port Washington WI this coming weekend, and I do not want to be the only one there who didn't see it! I wanna be a real pirate... Scurvy and all. Gwyd |

Full of sound and fury. Signfying nothing.

Yeah, what Payne said.
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!!! Properly warned ye be, says I WHERE DID THE MAGIC GO? I can sit through POTC: COTBP a coupla times a month -- Rush's characterisation of Barbossa is sheer perfection; poignant, sublime, gripping, believable. Depp's Sparrow a brilliant counterpoint, humourous, rakish, and engaging. This film defined the pirate genre for the current era the way "Treasure Island" did for its time. POTC: DMC, also watchable, though not as frequently. An interesting fleshing out of the storyline beyond the source material loosely provided by the ride. Here, Barbossa -- a stirring dramatic element from the first film -- briefly reappears as a startling mystical presence. Ah, but POTC: AWE, I'm pretty sure the working title was actually "POTC: At Rope's End." This thing was a dog...and not in a nice, key-holding, dungeon-guarding sorta way. Does EVERY character have to exhibit "father issues?" Is it dramatically necessary for the evil corporate genius from the East India Company to implode on the cusp of global domination, after being hoist on his own petard? MUST the crew endure another rallying "Braveheart" soliloquy from Elizabeth Swann? And did Jack Sparrow's maddeningly dull existence in Hell have to be so fully shared with the audience? Of course, there's also Davey Jones, who's in love, no he's a bad guy, no, he's a misunderstood lover, no , he's a corrupt power figure, no, he's tormented by personal inadequacies....MAKE UP YOUR MIND already! And Calypso just dissolves...into what? Was she returned to the pantheon of pagan sea gods, from where she began wreaking havoc on her pirate captors, (in sending the 'climatic' maelstrom)? Did she simply vanish, leaving behind a token ethnic presence (seemed to be a lot of those...). Lastly there was Barbossa, formerly so menacing and brooding a character, here reduced to playing a monkey rack. Oh, the humanity... To keep things in perspective, POTC: AWE was not as bad as Haunted Mansion. It was, however, a chain of mildly amusing vignettes attached to one heavy anchor of a movie and heaved overboard, with predictable results. It sunk. Leland |

Since you asked, I couldn't endure more than 10 minutes of the first one, so I'm not on the POTC bandwagon - just in case anyone's adding up votes here.
