Hey,
I lost my old password, submitted my username and email address, but can't seem to log in w/ the new randomised password.

I'm confused - how did you post the above message if you can't log in? You have to be logged in before you're allowed to post a message.

When you clicked the "Lost Password" link did you get an email with the random password? Did you then click the link in that email to activate the random password?

Thank you Mary for your reply, I have no problems logging in to post messages, but I have to log in everytime in order to do so. You know the usual options that appear on the right upper corner of the page that allows you to read your PMs and change your prferences? Well, those does not appear after I log in, the usual blanks that ask me for my username and password appear instead, ie, the system does not seem to recognise that I am logged in.
This has prevented me fr viewing my PMs, and changing my password. I hope I did not confuse you further w/ my description. Thanks for any help in advance.

Lawrence: This has come up before and I believe the resolution is you need to go into you hard drive and delete all the previous cookies. If you do a hard drive search for forum, you should see what you need to delete. I use IE and go to Windows, then temporary internet files and then I delete all the cookies that have anything to do with Café or forums.

Have you removed your forum cookies from the C/Windows/Cookies directory as well? Something else you might look into is (if you are running IE6+) check your security and cookie settings. It sounds as though you're not getting the cookie on your machine.

thank you all. managed to find out that IE was somehow set to block cookies from the magiccafe. removed that and everything is up running fine. Thanks again.
