Someone knows any information of where to get a Svengali Tarot Deck?
I’m having a hard time to find one. Personally, I prefer Gothic Tarot by Joseph Vargo or Rider Waite Tarot Version, but any Svengali Tarot Deck is good. Cheers! |

You know, actually I just saw a svengaly tarot deck in a local magic store here in Monterrey Mexico, that´s the problem, LOL, since it´s a really little magic store, but... could you give me some ideas for this? I don´t have any other than just the average Svengali routine, any other stuff? I'm gonna check where they purchase those and let you know if is closer to you.

Good for you Antonio.
Can you tell us what the key card in that deck is? It could be good if key card is The Death, Devil, Justice or Hanged Man. Any ideas about how to use it? Well a lot; I’m thinking to combine it with my current tarot reading routing. My Svengali routine is done based on "The Long and The Short of It" booklet; Pretty good, really you don't need more. |

I think Black Hart was making some in Tarot, you can check his site and see if he still has any available. Your statement about the key card is the primary reason that there are not more of them. Even if only the major arcana were used for the principle, that is 22 decks that must be hacked, and then you have all the other majors that are not as "popular".
The costs begin to get prohibitive. Once the three or four popular decks are sold, there is the remainder that sits on the shelf for however long as money tied up in inventory that is not moving. A difficult way to stay in business. Kay

I have a few on hand from another performer. They are neither Rider Waite (I have one of those and won't part with it) nor Vargo. When I locate them, I'll post the type of deck and key cards that I have.

I made a bunch of 50/50 type decks out of Miss Cleo cards when they were cheap to get. You could do something like that and then cut them yourself.

I toyed with producing these in my store but the cost of putting together a single pack is astronomical especially if you're using a full tarot pack.
If there are at least 40 people interested in a set, I could make them up. We'd all have to agree on a specific pack of course. I also think the Vargo Gothic pack is beautiful but handling of a traditional sized card might be difficult. The Rider Waite pocket size pack might be easier to manipulate. There is a smaller set of the Crowley, Thoth version available as well. Simon |

Mind-Magic - When you find out about Svengali Tarot Deck, could you PM me please? I'm also looking for a deck like that. Maybe I could send you a neat Bridge-Sized Stripper Deck they use here in Japan as a trade. Thanks!

The costs begin to get prohibitive You are dead right there! I have produced a new set of marked tarot and as has been mentioned I have some faked decks available. The cost of faked decks for tarot cards are much more than for 'normal' playing cards because I can only buy full tarot decks rather than multiple individual cards. Keith Hart

What if....
...someone would design and print an old looking Tarot deck... ...if this someone would be a magician and thinks about the needs of other magicians ...and will not only produce a Tarot deck but also gaffed cards, force cards for producing Svengali decks or force decks etc. Hmmm, OK, I will do it As already mentioned I will produce an old poker deck that looks 200 years old. And I will not stop there and produce a medieval Tarot looking also 200 years old. Here is an image for a first impression what the cards will look like. Please let me know what you think about it. The backs will look like the backs that I will use for my Gypsy deck so you could even mix the cards together with a poker deck! I will somehow mark the backs of the great arcana (is it called so in english?), I mean the first 21 cards so that you can find out the "important" cards. A marking on the forcing cards will also help to make it easier when using them.

Card-Shark:
In addition of the Svengali Tarot Deck, are you will be able to sell identical tarot cards? (ex: 19 dead cards) |

This is the idea: you get the basic Tarot deck and then will be able to add force sets to it. If you like you can tell me that I should shorten the cards for you and so I would prepare you your Svengali Deck. I want to produce the following force cards in larger quantity: The Death, The Tower, The Lovers, The Stars
And then there will be several additional ideas, every force card will be added into another card for instance. This is my next step: to manipulate the cards to add special thrills and endings for a story.
