Velcome to the dark side --
It is always a happy event when someone removes the shroud from their sunken eyes and realises that credulity doth run amok among the populace of the commons. And, maybe, just maybe, a way to get others to use their intellect in judgment of reality is to feed them enough impossibalia and superstition that they realize thgir ownb foolishness when some 3 year old yells out "The Emperor has no clothes." Show business is -- as show business does,

Bobser,
Where is the lie by ommitance? You tell them you do hypnotism, you do hypnotism. You tell them you do contact mind reading and that is how you do it. Prevaricator claims to read body language and that is totally true. Body magic is obvious what you are doing. Let's leave readings out of this...there is another thread for that. What am I omitting? |

I was "forced" to the Dark Side, (after working outside in the sun so long this spring). "Just get a Tan, Luke".

In response to mota's comments about Banachek's hypocritical disclaimer, there are a few things that have been overlooked:
1) He states that he uses his 5 known senses to create the illusion of a sixth sense. 2) He states that he is, indeed, a thought reader, but not a mindreader. He says that if you come up to him after the show and ask for him to read your mind he can't do it. He then goes on with saying that if a husband and wife are sitting on a park bench and a pretty girl walks by, the husband stares at the pretty girl and the wife smacks him then we all know what he was probably thinking because of his body language. He talks about how body language gives away subtle clues to what someone is thinking. Even when he performs his metal bending, he never makes claims to psychokinesis or saying "I just think bend" or the like. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions and mine is that Banachek's disclaimer does, indeed, cover his performance even though I'm sure that the audience probably loses sight of the disclaimer during the performance. |
