A US .25 cent piece and a US .5 nickel.

When you do it, you can balance the coins together on the edges. When you hand them to the spectator, they can't. I think the coins have a magnet shim or something???

Do you know what this effect is called? Is it marketed?

They are by Roy Kueppers. There is a new one called "Balanced", where you balance a quarter,a nickel, and a dime on top of each other. He also has the one called "Balancing Spinning Quarters", and "Nickel to Nickel". The Balancing Spinning Quarters one is only about $7. A very good deal.

Any UK coin practitioners out there - you can acheive any of the above effects with borrowed 'copper' coins (2p is the best) using a PK ring.

Sorry, Euro zone and US but you don't have steel core coins, I'm afraid.
