I have spent many hours here at the Café, reading about how bizarism isn't magic, or mentalism isn't magic, but the farthest from magic I've seen is escape artists. Do you think E.A. is breaking away from magic? After all, sometimes we are doing these escapes in PLAIN VIEW!

Here are my thoughts. We are magicians in a way, we have secrets and gimmicks just like magicians do.
EA's are a very narrow strip in the magic class I'd almost call it "specialized magic." I think that some of us would like to break free of the magic classification but we of course can't. Magicians rarely classify us in the same sect they are and at the same time the public sees us as magicians. This is in large part thanks to Houdini; middle of the road magician but a pioneer in escapes. However you ask the public to name a magician and most will say, "Houdini." So yeah, that's about all I've got to say about that.
A direct from text adaptation : The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde Starring Mickey Rooney in his final role.
