Has anybody seen the latest episodes? Criss performed some effects that have been out for a LONG time.
He did a vanishing candle, levitating glass, and a (Badly done) tip-over trunk with a cardboard box. He did a good job with all of them except that tip-over trunk. He's really bad at acting sometimes. Thanks Gerard for the info. Keep us updated. I can't wait for the rest of the shows. |

I don't know what's more ridiculous, the notion that Angel is in charge of unpacking the organizations T-Shirts, the double-walled shipping box mounted to a platform or his manager, consultant/suck-ups and brother pretending (badly) to be amazed and surprised at the performance. Things like this convince me that the show is aimed at children, but then it's on at 10 PM and is sponsored by a Vodka distiller. Very strange. |

Oh, no....I just watched it again. When he tips over the box, you can tell that it's two separate pieces. Just watch it again....
Criss really needs to watch what he's doing. Before this, he did two or three Steinmeyer effects and flashed on all of them. I hate it when magicians don't pay attention to detail. |

Criss Angel tries too hard. Not to mention that horrible emo haircut

-It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them. -The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything. See you space cowboy... |

Unfortunately there have been a few "flashes" this season.
the tip-over box and the little girl to 20 year old illusion have clear traces of "how its done". Since this is no live show, they should cut out wrongly filmed bits and redo them later... |

Not to mention a very clear shot of the mirror glass used in one illusion.
Plus the horrible over-reliance on "matte" effects this season... (gotta watch those shadows) The obviously-paid stooges masquerading as "audience" are getting annoying too.

I like watching his shows
his show IS entertaining and he is bringing magic to lay people....even if we like it or not, he is using everything to his advantage so I'm just happy he is bringing magic to the public (if its legit. or not I another story )
Been a busker since I was 14 from San Diego; Don Driver was my mentor along with many others like Jimmy Talksalot, Sleeveless (Stephen Sloan), Bob Elliott.

Point is the public is not impressed at all.
I watched him do the Sub Trunk. I am not sure what season it was as I don't watch regularly. BUT watch when the non curtan sub trunk is done. (As if a wall of flame is different from a curtain, but that is not the point.) I am telling you he used camera edits to accomplish it faster! Watch him do it live, or even the footage from years ago he shows on the show, it is edited to be faster! It seems so anyhow, I can be wrong lord knows. BUT if he is editing it, and history shows us he likes to do just that, why? Such a great effect, and he messes with it for no reason. Oh well.

If you watch criss angel subtrunk version live, you are taken over by the artistic expression of the routine. it looks instantaneou, theatre people don't stopwatch and go to do the same thing with pendragons just for the sake of comparing. you go to theatre to be entertained.
tv is another story... |

First let me say I'm tired of seeing him "levitate".
second I think he has gotten to a point where he doesn't worry about what fellow magicians think. ex.1 - the little girl he made become 20 years old. if you taped it watch it again, watvh the angle onn left side of the scree and you can see the girl go into the table and the lady come out. ex.2 - tonight episode w/ amazig jonathan and the ridiculous street magic they did. ex.3 - even when he uses a prop/trick available in stores, he makes them look bad. I miss the old criss angel, metamorphosis w/ flames and stuff like that. I'm not freaked out, I'm freakin over it. I hope this is the last season. we need more worlds greatest magic specials. anyway please reply. want to see if I'm alone in this.

I was trying not to say anything, but my sister is a huge fan. her friennd was on season two, she gave criss the blanket with his symbol on it, which he used in a later episode. my sister then went to vegas for the taping of season three, and won a trip to barbados, which should be seen this season. she let me know that most people who go to the tapings who are seen onn the show have to sign a secrecy agreement. and that he lets people in on some of the illiusions. her friend told me on season two when he floated in the park, which she as part of, there was a 3 foot pole holding him up. that's fine, but stop letting the public in on it.

I am kind of frustrated and bored with the "impromptu" effects Criss presents this season that are obviously scripted, planned and set up. It is less magical and quite frankly, it reeks of camera tricks and set-ups. It is a bummer that such a great magician is going this way. I don't find his shows this season to be all that interesting or inspiring. He is doing old effects and a lot of things that are not very interesting.
For me, the worst part is that I think Criss is absolutely AMAZING, but he becoming more of a circus act than a magician to me. Especially the overly dramatic way this show is presented as compared to season 1. |

Well, as I've said on another thread, I watch his show mainly for the close up stuff. but on last nights show, the "street magic" thing made me wince. sad thing is I'm a huge fan of the amazing johnathan, and I felt bad for him.
it just wasnt a fun episode for me. didn't even like the fountain trick he did on this one p.s. glad to see ya on here Kermit |

I didn't see his episode last night, but so far, here's my count of all the things he has flashed or performed badly:
-Tip over box -Orange juice to bird (He laid the prop down on the table and the camera got a clear view of how it worked -The two cars changing under the sheet -Changing the girl into a 20 year old. -All of his dove and bird productions Etc, etc. I've lost count. He's a really bad performer sometimes. The bad thing is that laymen are catching on to it. |

How about the one where he is walking on screwdrivers that are pinned in the upward position. No blood, on his feet at all as evidenced by the camera showing the upward view. Then afterwards, as they are taking him away in the ambulance, he has tons of gauze wrapped around his feet with blood oozing out. Of course his brother is going crazy with the scared look.
