O.K. I just received my Qualatex 160's my heart all a patter with anticipation. I heard from an anonymous source (Because I can't remember it) here, that blowing them up by mouth wasn't that different from 260's. Lies.
Is there a trick, or is it even possible? Once pumped up they do twist nice. And take a lot more twists without popping than the 260's.

Uh...the fact that the diameter of the balloon is 1/2 what a 260 is would almost double the air pressure it takes to inflate a 260. Trust me. I can get a 160 inflated by mouth, but it's not an enjoyable thing to do many. I can mouth inflate close to 600 260s without a headache, and I can't say the same for 160s.

No you don't...then you get too reliant on that method. I find that now, I can't control the pressure inside well enough with my Balloon Master pump, and they tend to get too tight and need constant "burping" (the balloons, not me!) while twisting.

I've seen very good mouth blowers struggle with 160's. The person who told you it was the same as a 260 (I use a pump with 'em) is a liar and will burn in hades for misrepresenting the facts to you.

I can do it, but yes use a pump. I only mouth inflate to prove I can, them go back to the pump.

I found the posts in question (I used the search function) and realized that nearly all of the posts said you wouldn't blow them up mouthwise, only one said it was O.K. So I guess I was at fault there.
Anyway I pumped one up all the way and tied it unnessecarily and the thing didn't pop. I had to finally squeeze it to make it do so. Good Balloons.

Inflating a 160 by mouth is extremely difficult! I've seen a twister in Dallas (Stretch) inflate a 160 that had been cut in half. Is it impossible? no, hard yes! I use a pump to inflate everything, except the 350's and up..

I was rewatching Bad TO The Balloon and Mark whips out a 160 and blows it up no problem....dang him! I've also seen Stretch do it....dang him too.

I have done it but my god I felt every breath, but I felt the same with 260's until I had done about 1000 of them. If I used 160's regularily I would probably build up the lung power! But I don't so I wont!
Keep passing the open windows!

What are you doing that you blow up 1,000 per day?
On a good day I usually blow 125 per hour 30 -40 balloon hats. That is line work. Much less in a restaurant or a show.
