DR Who is a great TV program - well worth watching and there is soooo much inspiration for bizzarists. All the great monsters and the like....
But what has really got me recently is the altering of the perception of everyday objects for the people watching...In the last two episodes there are great examples of this - 1. the spirit/essence of this little child being trapped in a miror, every mirror in the in the world and when you look into a mirror and see a movement behind you that's her.... 2. and the other being that every statue is aactually a being that could come to life at any moment and send you back in time... Now when I see a statue, a mirror I remember the storys the effect it had on me and I was thinking that wouldn't this be a great thing - to alter the audiences perception of an object in a performance... just an idea....what do you think? |

Great idea !!! I believe this is how urban legends begin.

One of my favourite Mirror effects is indeed called "Mirror" and by none other than our own Curator here. His plot is about mirrors containing a spirit who's job it is create the reflection. Indeed, I'd go so far as to say that I suspect someone of the Dr Who team has either read 'Hauntiques' or at least similar inspirational materials.
Wonder if Christian has seen the episode?

Please take a moment to ponder the Curators picture, does he not look like a Doctor??? I believe this is further evidence that he is a Time Lord...
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=14 a time machine hmmmm... In another topic dicussion on 'finds at the flea market' he just HAPPEN'S to find a dinosaur tooth... I also propose that he is useing his powers to travel through time collecting all the best wonder curio's and strange haunted objects which he houses at the surnateum... maybe I'm wrong...

I saw the episode with the weeping angels coming to life to steal the potential of people's lives today. The short story that it is loosely based on can be found here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/episodes/......al.shtml
Like many Dr Who episodes, I too found this one a great inspiration for bizarre storytelling ideas. |

I'm looking forward to seeing these. I take it the Mirror episode is from this season in the UK? If so, we should get it in a few months here in the US.
