Very interesting Dec - I enjoyed the magic mirror video. I've never seen that before (hated physics as a kid!) Cheers for the heads-up on it.

In the optical illusion section there's something called the dragon illusion. I made one for my kids some time ago. It's not magic but it's really neat.

I found out how these are made... what came to mind when I saw the mirror was this... You tell the story of a magic mirror that has the power to call forth demons, you show the mirror with its mysterious symbols and motifs and reversed polished surface as you start to mumble menacing, malicious mantra's, the reflection bounces off the wall it shows an inversed pentegram strangely aglow, whereby you then signal your friend, who, dressed as the lord satan himself, proceeds to punch a hole through the drywall from the another room at the point where the reflection is resting...
Someone tell me something about that youtube video... Is that real??????

WOW, that first link I spent over an hour looking at his toy collection, Those mirrors are amazing regardless of the mechanics, and the one on youtube left me speechless. Thanks for sharing.
I could replicate that video with adobe after effects, but if that was the method used, I would have made it even more realistic, that's why I don't think it was a video effect.
My mom says I'm reprehensible, I think I'm perfectly hensible.

The YouTube video looks like "blue screen" technology to me...

Pretty cool! I bought my daughter a vanity with Ariel from disney, the mirror has a picture that comes forth and it talks. Not the same technology, but it can be down with electronics as well.

Mirror mirror on the wall who is the most beautiful bizarre magician of them all ??? Well dang if it didn't just say Declan Ring...
http://www.homesteadline.com/Mirrors/ The above link will hide the image of a picture you send them inside a bloody mirror... read that again... This topic has just become a veritable feast and I believe should be moved to the banquet room and locked in the crypt, can anyone help with this... I have always loved the concept of using mirrors for the bizarre and The Curators piece in hauntiques inspired me to write my own story call 'trick or treat' History is littered with stories of magical mirrors and much inspiration can be drawn from these stories. See what I mean here... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/262701/mir......s_angel/ Absolutely wonderful magic this is the stuff fairytales are made of. This shows an interactive mirror... http://media.putfile.com/mikes-halloween-2005 It made me think when the little girl at the end said can you come out in 3D if this concept wouldn't work with those 3D glasses? here are more fine examples, enjoy... http://homepage.mac.com/nephilim/imagine......ror.html The power to make your own, what will you do with it???
