As all of you probably know, Jack Parker, the legend who creates that incredibly Magical card effects, is in really bad health, and no one knows how much longer he has. Andi Gladwin is currently compiling a book of 52 of Jacks favourite creations, even unpublished effects, and as a friend of Jacks, I would love it everyone could email Jack a message at info@jacksdeck.com of thanks for everything he has created, and I'm sure those who have read Genii recently will agree, his Magic is breath taking! You don't have to, but it would mean a lot to me and I'm sure Jack and his family!

Yes, he is amazing. If anyone has bought the new Genii, you will know what I am talking about. I really hope he gets better!

Jack Parker is awesome and I'm glad everybody knows it now. I have been enjoying his work for years so it was really nice to see him on the cover of Genii.

I have been one of the lucky ones; I've spent the last five or six years watching Jack grow and develop his material. I've learnt a lot from him and have always enjoyed our meetings and collaborations. Our future loss of Jack will leave a large hole in my life and I will miss him forever.
Important: Jack is currently in a hospice so has very sporadic email access. Please do not be worried if he does not get back to you. He is extremely ill and his pain may not allow him to sit at the computer for very long. In fact, it may be better if you post your messages here if you feel comfortable doing so. As Chris said, I'm working on a very large book of Jack's favourite creations. Jack has been actively involved up to this stage and while his health problems have allowed him to. In fact, I just posted an update on The Clog: http://www.andigladwin.co.uk/blog/posts/......e-works/ If you have never learnt a Jack Parker trick, now is the time to do so. It'll enrich your magic. --Andi

I have had the enormous pleasure of speaking to Jack on a variety of occasions and have most of his material. A quiet, unassuming genius. Good luck Jack.

I agree with everyone in saying it's a HUGE loss to the magic society that Jack is ill. I hope his family is coping well and I'm sure there will be queues of people willing to offer their support.
He will be greatly missed by all. |

My prayers and best wishes to Jack and his family. Best of luck to you Jack. Although we never personally met I just want to let you know how Hot I think your Daughter Sarah Jessica is! You must be so proud of her and all the accomplishments, let alone her level of success. And now she is branching into the clothing business! I see her running around the streets of the west village all the time and can tell you she looks great. Always smiling and looking happy! I just have one question, why did you let her marry you-know-who?

I know from speaking to Andi that he is currently working every spare hour he has on the Jack Parker book. I got to see some of the material from it recently and it is, as you might suspect, excellent. Richard Kaufman made a great decision putting Jack on the cover - he truly deserved it.

I was fortunate to be invited to his last lecture and get-together last month. We (about 10 cardmen) had a great, but emotional, time. Jack was a lovely man...I enjoyed our (few) get-togethers, chats and magic sessions.

I can only repeat what others have said and what must be thinking when I say he will be greatly missed.
I knew it was bound to happen, but I'm still in shock. Hope his family are holding up well. |

Any Effect Is Possible, methods are relativley easy to come by, but it is the effect that takes true courage to come up with

Jack died of cancer. He was diagnosed with it in November 2006.
He was a fantastic magician and I already miss bouncing ideas and tricks off him. I wrote a small appreciation here: http://www.andigladwin.co.uk/blog/posts/......-parker/ --Andi
