Hey Folks I want to stress that the gimmick is more visible with these other glasses. We had our frames built by one company and then the lenses remastered by a sister company with the help of an entirely different company. They did 2 things for us, they made the gimmick more invisible so people can't detect the secret like evident in those pics, secondly, they adjusted the optics viewing distance, so you can see more thus you are not having to be a weird angles etc.

These MindShades look GREAT!
The gimmick is MUCH more invisible than any other I have seen out there. High quality frames and very stylish. Nice durable protective case too! It comes with several well thought out routines that work in the real world. I personally field tested these glasses and had great results. So many things you can do. So many ideas of your own you can incorporate. It is sunny today, so I must go play and have some more fun with this. See you all soon. Best, Nick Verna

For those who have asked about the invisibility of the gimmick, allow me to post this here as well...
When I first picked these up, I was like "cool sunglasses." Then, I was like "where's the special feature?" Honestly, it is not apparent right away. The invisibility of the gimmick is extraordinary. No way anyone around you will detect anything. Mind Shades are far superior to other models. The angle range and optics are incredible and a performer's dream. I really love the comfort on these. The ear piece is nice and soft. Good quality cushion. VERY COMFORTABLE to wear.

Got mine today - playing around with them this evening... will go out tomorrow and try some stuff.
The glasses are well made, sturdy, and got a nice black/grey/silvery look to them (since black and silver are my signature colours, I love it)... The glasses are very flat as opposed to have a bit of a bend around them to angle about your face - but personally, I think it makes them look "funky" and sleek. UV protection too. They are comfortable to wear, and unless you have a mutant head (like that of a giant fly) it seems it will fit many people's heads. The gimmick is hard to spot unless you are looking for it - it is not 100% invisible- but you really don't want it to be because Peter outlines a special use for being able to see it...but really, you have to know where to look to spot it. The routines are more ideas and concepts on what you can do with the tech. Peter also includes some subtleties etc. but for those of you who do a lot of mentalism - you'll feel right at home. The stressed part is how to make sure the glasses are not suspected of things. In the Shade and 7th Sense look like my favs on reading - the Shades Down is something I used with the inferior set I had gotten from elsewhere (these are WAY better)... and the concept is great... (sheesh, I can't explain anything in detail without giving away the gaff)... Ninja Force is interesting... There are a few Roulettes/smash/stab ideas - personally - I think of the Mindshades as adding insurance - personally, I'd build in a few extra safeties - but that is just me - the only roulette I do is with the Scorpion -> and I think that is the one I'll try out with the MS All in all - this appearsa great value for this. Plus, you can pretend to be a Secret Agent Man (or Woman) too... (to avoid "lying in the Bombay alley next dayyyyyy").... Thanks Peter! Dr S

Just walked around all morning with it - works very well... haven't tried the effects but just getting used to the angles. Fit well on my face and comfortable after even 2 hours. No problem seeing "normally" too... I don't think I'll drive with it tho'... but great for bicycling!

Don't you just love these spectacles Dr. Spektor?
These MindShades are a dream come true! Much more versatile than anything out there on the market and you can't beat that comfort. "Spy glasses" can get you dizzy pretty quick and are limited to its usage. So, don't be fooled by imitators or cheap models designed for only one purpose. These can do EVERYTHING those other models can and more, but those other models can't do everything MindShades can do. They are so undetectable. Peter did a superb job working with professionals in the research and development of these babies. This is a prime example of where a concept becomes design, and design manifesting into a reality. Thanks so much for these Peter. Turning a dream into something real that we all can enjoy is magical. That's how it's done!!! Cheers! Nick V.

Plus, I suppose you can also check out potential specs covertly... nice good looking ones - and without getting slapped upside the head. Not that I'd ever use the glasses for such purposes...
(ARGH... I am becoming X! The man with the X-Ray EEEEEEEEEYYYYYEEEEEESSS) Also, One starts to feel a bit like the Venutian from the twilight zone episode "Will the real Martian Please stand up" I did a varation of "SHADES" with some of my own psychometric style with specs "loading" emotional charges into objects... one thing I think can help cloak the entire thing is to blend it in with other effects - and cold reading with psychometry does wonders. So, now I will say - YES! This IS worth the money!!!! More than worth it.

I have been receiving lots of emails and submissions already from people who have already thought of original effects for use with these, that I am hoping to put together a booklet or even a password protected forum in the future of submitted effects for use with these. Its going to be a busy summer I think. Thank you all for enjoying these. I also only came up with the idea of what I wanted these to be, so I have to thank the other companies involved in the lens re-mastering that made these what I wanted them to be for magicians!

Peter,
FANTASTIC! I just received me Mind Shades (THANKS!) and I have to say these things are TOP QUALITY and very cool. I cannot agree anymore with the positive reviews. I am looking forward to coming up with my own clever ways of using this gimmick. The possibilities seem endless...plus they actually look pretty cool on my silly melon! Great work, great thinking and cool routine idea. Keep up the great work! Chance

In the hope that we may just get a few more sunny days here in England this Summer, are there any UK distributors?
Thanks, Jon. |

Peter Loughran V.I.P. Ontario, Canada 2683 Posts |
Hi Jon, Murphys Magic will be taking over the distribution of this effect for me, so in a few weeks, the item should be vastly available in different locations world wide including the UK. But as of right now, no there are no UK suppliers yet, I do however ship to the UK so if you are hungry for a pair, you can order them from me direct.

Cool!
I think the traditional grey storm clouds overhead may be a sign that there's not an imediate urgency, so I think I'll probanly wait to pick these up locally. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the info Peter. Jon. |

My Review:
I got the glasses sometime last week and tried them out but the case had to large slit marks in them so I sent everything back to hocus-pocus to be replaced by a new one. However the products is fantastic. I didn't think much of it when I ordered it and figured I wont use it much but the gimmick is unbelievable. I don't even know how its possible. When you look at the ****** part of the glasses with them off or if someone looks at them with you wearing it they literary see through like you would normal glasses. I'm 15 so my mom buys most of my effect for me (though I pay her back) and I usually discuss them with her because I try it them out on her first and stuff and she is never happy when I buy my effects because she thinks its a "waste of money" and this was one of the more expensive things I purchases but she was very excited about this when she saw it and said to my surprise it is worth every penny and knowing her if she says that you know it has to be. All and all great product though you can't wear it all day (well I guess you can if you want) because the ******* will get annoying. |
