Chris who is a member of these boards floored me the other day.
I'll admit it, it was very very good. I rarely endorse anything let alone build on hype! Infact, my friend Josh Jay and also Jon Racherbaumer think its brilliant. Chris is an up and coming top magician, and after the success of his bright ideas dvd he's proving he's no one trick pony, we are gonna be seeing a lot more of his great ideas. We've been knocking round ideas all week (him more so than me!)And this one came out and I thought it was genius. I've not told him I'm writing this yet but I know he doesn't want the routine out completely before its ready to be released. What I can say is that its a poker plot with a psychological twist....and a really good ending! The spectator can shuffle and deal, and there are no outs, you are always right and 100% self working (so he says, and I believe him!)Best of all the spectator doesn't even have to know anything about poker to understand the routine! Which is a godsend, as some will switch off if they can't follow the plot! I didn't want him to teach it me, I'll be buying it. I really wanted know the method! But I'm looking forward to the manuscript. Poker demo's or anything poker related should be in your close up arsenal, it is so popular your doing yourself a disservice, even if you can find a royal flush or four aces from a shuffled deck you can up your credibility ten fold. This routine is a reputation maker. Chris have you got a release date yet? There's only going to be 250* Signed copies ever made! Matt Colman. *Make that 249 My name is on one. |

Yikes, thanks for the kind words Matt, now it's got to live up to it
As for a release date, still not 100% as it hasn't made its way to the printers, but it isn't far off that stage! As I have told a few people, all text is done, it is fully written up, including my false shuffle, and some afterthoughts from Magicians including Paul Cummins and John Bannon. All that is left is the picture to be included, which I thought was done, until the computer decided to say there were no pictures on the camera...after 30 mins of different shots etc!!!! I have been in contact with one printer, and am looking at some others as well, just to make sure I get the best deal to make it a good price, and it should be on still for a release in a month or less! Will be quicker when the editor decides to get back off the holiday he didn't tell me he was going on!!! But that should be tomorrow or Friday. Your name is on the reserved list Matt, as with all the other people PMing me and emailing me. If you are interested in making sure you get a copy, let me know! Either PM me or email me at chris@magicman13.co.uk Thanks to everyone for their support and kind words so far! |

Christopher,
Congratulations in advance! I also want to thank you for remembering me. After going thru Mind Play, I realized why heavy hitters such as Paul Cummins and John Bannon took notice in this routine. It is definitely not your average poker deal demo. There is more to Mind Play than that. The thinking Christopher put into this was nothing short of brilliant. Most people see me as a coinman... I am! BUT I am a cardman at heart. Christopher knows this. As a cardman, as a colleague, I highly recomend Mind Play. Matt, if I may add..... not only is it a reputation maker....it is also a showpiece! I am looking foreward to session and work with you one day. Oh....heck even just shoot the breeze and talk magic. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED WITH MIND PLAY!!! Rannie

WOW! Thanks for the kind words Rannie, I am glad you like it so much. gmmagic125, no there is no demo, and won't be. Rannie has mentioned just a couple of the names who has looked at this and have even added some great ideas to it. Still spaces on the list for anyone who wants to make sure they get one for definite. The manuscript will be off to the printers any day now!

Why won't there be a demo video? I think a demo will really help us get a good picture of what the audience sees. Or at least a more detail description of the routine?

There won't be a demo for several reasons. I don't think you would get much out of seeing a demo, as if I put a full demo, people would try and re-construct the routine. The ending to the routine is also original to me (So the top professionals have told me), and if I put a demo showing it, everyone would try and create something based around my ending. When it is released I don't mind, but I won't put a demo up just for this. As it is a thought of card routine...all you will see is spectators thinking of cards, and as I said I wouldn't put a full demo up, you would only see parts, and you might think I am being dishonest as to what is going on.
This routine is for anyone who wants to add a professional routine which has been performed hundreds of times in professional performances and streamlined to make it a worker. The fact it has caught the names of people like Josh Jay, Jon Racherbaumber, Peter Duffie, John Bannon, Paul Cummins and most recently Joel Givens should say something about the routine |

If your looking for a top notch card routine then your journey is over. This gets one of my highest recommendations. Chris is a great guy and accomplished entertainer, all of us will benifit by his offering.

Christopher's routine is strong, polished card stuff...it's got the poker thing AND a magic/mental element. I liked it a lot!

I agree with Josh on this. I really like the combination of the two plots, and the way he has it structured there really is no way for anyone to backtrack this.I also like the fact that you never have to look at the faces. It really is a well thought out routine. Hats off to ya Chris!

Thanks for the kind words Josh and Joel, I am glad two big names such as yourselves love this!
Just an update, this will be out within the next 2 weeks all going well! I promise to all those asking, it is out soon!!! |

Put me down for one brother. Having cammed with Chris, and seen his skill with the pasteboards, I will definatly be crashing at his house in the near future. I think we should all get together for a session in England. With the release of Impervious just around the corner, I can relate to not having time for other projects.
Regards, Jeremy Hanrahan We should do that card dvd thing in Ohio lol
I get to gaff some cool stuff for some cool people
