Kevin James was just on America's Got Talent.
He performed a very deceptive illusion in which he assembled a "dummy" of Charlie Chaplin inside of a large packing trunk stood on its end. While the assembled dummy was in full view the entire time, he made the dummy come to life, as a real person. Needless to say, he wowed the judges and was put through to the next round. Did anyone else see this? Nice job Kevin!

I saw it to and have seen Kevin perform this live many many times. It still is just a wonderful show of entertainment. He really is such a creative thinker and it was great seeing him do well. He has so much great material he should do very well.

I remember, years ago, seeing him do that where he performed the broom suspension on that 'Charlie Chaplin' character. I believe the show was called "Las Vegas Magic"
...for the 51st time... that is NOT my card...

Saw it, and I was thoroughly entertained.
The head rolling off really sold the illusion imho. Hasslehoff was fooled -- he looked like he wanted to get up from his chair and help K. James by giving him back the head, but he wasn't sure if it was a part of the act. The fact that he wasn't X'd during this bit truly reflects on how entertaining the judges must have thought he was. Given the incredibly short time frame in which these performances have to be done, and given the performance set-up for this trick, I found his act that much more amazing. A tough venue for this.

I figured they would buzz Kevin before he had the chance to finish assembling the dummy. It had been a weird night on the show.

Which dancing dude? The belly dancer, or the Indian guy?

KJ was fantastic on the show. He truly floored everyone. Talk about "misdirection!" That was a classic lesson on it's use.

I even got a chance to work on the prop a little bit with Kevin. I won't say what it is but I think it is going to get a lot of interesting reactions from both lay audiences and magicians alike. I will tell you all to stay tuned and keep watching. Also, keep your eyes open for Bruce Block to be doing some very funny things as well.
